Yep seems like he ticks a few Celtic transfer bingo boxes, Irish international, hate figure for Rangers fans, injury prone

Expect Mcgeady to be in next.
Those who thought Celtic were going to go for Ross in the summer might have had a point, for the back four

Think they are both decent signings but the length of deals are a bit excessive at their ages.

Celtic are in panic territory though and their negotiating position will reflect this. They also have a new, young CEO who is coming under increased pressure.

They haven't had the infrastructure in place to be working on deals that will represent value. They need bodies in, everybody knows it and the deals they offer folk will reflect that.

Joe Hart I reckon could be an inspired signing. Somebody mentioned Jim Leighton, the experienced goalkeeper who was good back in the day but has lost his way is potentially a great signing to make. They need a pretty dominating figure back there to bark out the orders, I think he could be an excellent choice. He also ticks the "big name" thing that fans of big clubs love, so they can consider themselves part of some sort of elite when it simply boiled down to the fact that they were the least crap offer on the table for a player who has been in the wilderness.

McCarthy is a strange one. Again, a decent player back in the day but his recent injury record is awful. Their midfield should also already be half-decent with McGregor and Turnbull in there, so it's the area of their team that needs bolstered the least.

A goalkeeper was a priority but after that they are screaming out for defenders and a reliable centre forward. Until they get those positions sorted it is hard to see where they might pick up any points at all.

I fear he might be their next target manager when the one they have fails. Good news is the guy might not fail but take a couple of weeks to get going. Celtic have lost their first game at ER then gone on to win the league. This time they wont but should be sitting second come December and beyond. If they are not I will start to have concerns re JR.

@HibernianFC interested in Cheick Keita from @hnkgorica. Contact has been made, Croatian club waiting for the official offer.

@pafosfcofficial also interested, but still no offer.

No comment from Gorica when I asked if they are ready to sell.

Doig's still in Edinburgh anyway, my wife seen him in Boots at Fort Kinnaird earlier on today.

He might have been buying his toiletries for his travels mind you.

Also heard this today. Hibs trying to stir up a bidding war for the laddie possibly by making teams that are interested in him up their bids?

Has the josh doig talk made us stop looking for a centre half and forward?

I’ll be sounding like a closet Celtic fan with some of my recent posts but I actually think McCarthy could be a decent signing. The bottom line is they are desperate for players and they need them throughout the spine.

Although McGregor and Turnbull are good players, the lad Soro looks very average. They lack leaders and experience so McCarthy could make a difference. 4 years is mental but he’s averaged 25 games a season for last 2 years. They still need another 4 players minimum I’d say but those 2 today are a start

Southampton & Leeds would be excellent moves. Though I’d hope he would be loaned into the Championship instead of going into their under23 squad

The way he tells it, he had a gentleman’s agreement with Levy to leave this summer and Levy has gone back on his word.

I think that’s very naive from Kane, but who’s the bigger prick?
Harry Kane is, because look at him.

    Thanks.

Football Journalist with only 400 followers has me sceptical though. I see one of those was Scott Burns who’s pretty reliable, for context he’s got 12.5k followers.

Obviously not an exact science but it’s something I normally check when looking at credibility of the person tweeting it.

Unsure if that’s right with Kensell and think maybe it was how he answered it.

Don’t think it’s a case nowadays if clubs just offering a couple of million, being told no and going again. It will be constant back and forth.

He said strong interest but doesn’t want to say much more than that but there’s always jostling and positioning.

Seems like a lot of negotiations to get the right deal.
