Wish I could watch prime Taylor when he was with Shane Mcguigan, he was an absolute lethal sniper back in they days.. But that’s in the past. It’s been pretty downhill since he was crowned undisputed champion, but that’s boxing for ya.

For 4-5 rounds he looked close to the old Josh Taylor. After that.........not so much

I see that Ricky Hatton is making another comeback...I wish these guys would just let it go

    Agree.

Hatton is an old, fat man. Well retired after a successful and hard career.

    Just why?!

He surely doesn't need the money.

I kind of got why he has the exhibition with Barrera. That was always the fight he wanted and it seemed like a nice goodbye. This is just ridiculous.

It's horrible to say but it might almost be a blessing if someone gets hurt badly enough that it stops these fights being sanctioned.

Agree PB, there is absolutely no need for it.

I know you are a boxing fan so know much more about it than me but surely a boxing purist can't enjoy watching dross like this?? I imagine it's the kind of thing they should be hosting in a place like Benidorm so pissed up middle age blokes can reminisce about the old days!

I think a lot of these guys who have been at the pinnacle of their sport just really struggle to fully let go of it. I think Ricky has had struggles with addiction since giving up the sport and it almost feels like he's chasing the natural high of competition again.

I can't be doing with these 'fights', no right minded 46 year old man should want to to be stepping into a ring for a tear up unless it's one of these daft choreographed things with the Jake Paul's of this world and you're guranteed your health and your pay packet at the end of it. I don't even know if there will be head gear worn or if there will be 2 minute rounds or if it's a full on ten rounder under Queensberry rules? It's not boxing, it's just all a bit sad and pointless.

It's a weird one. The guy he's fighting is also old and inactive so at least they seem to fighting similar standard etc. If you read Hatton's socials yesterday, it's all about being a fighter and just loving to fight, having a goal and his mental health (which he is constantly battling). He's minted, still in the gym most days but also loves a good bevvy and the high life in Tenerife with his pals. You've also got Pauli Malingaggi having another pop at the bare knuckle stuff in September. He does seem in much better shape though and is just a radge!
