Of course, I was thinking it was their first since 1986, completely forgot about the ones they won under Mad Vlad
I was going to make the joke about selling them a monorail but it's not funny, people so far removed from reality that they buy wholesale into fad after fad. The "Jamestown" fad being just another in a long line - Mercer calling them "customers" instead of "fans" meaning they had "modernised" past other clubs being the most pathetic.

Is it something in the water inside their ground?

Has anyone had a look in the Brighton and Hove Albion trophy cabinet. The same Tony Bloom who’s going to get Hearts winning major Scottish trophies, has won heehaw at Brighton

Aye but he's brought his bingo ball machine to a hugely famous club, Brighton's just a wee seaside town in England. Midlothian is different gravy.

They're like the Craig levein of English football. Surprised they don't have any manager of the month and goal of the month wins listed there as well Screenshot_20250706-185331.jpg

That roll of honour would look very different if Gordon Smith, previously of the now deduct Rangers, hadn't missed a sitter in the FA cup final.

Looking at some of the threads on Kickback we are so bad and St Derek and St Tony have made them into something special. There is also a thread about Shankland looking taller, probably looks like that because of a receding hairline.

Look we all have to know our place and pretty quick. The disruption they are going to cause Scottish football will be seismic. We will not have seen the likes.

Big clubs have big squads and pay big big fees and even bigger wages.

What is really funny is they think that because they use JTA that every team will want to buy their players and for a premium.

My Jambo chum reckons more are incoming this week.

Aldo on your last paragraph, reminds me of Vlad bringing in a bus load of Lithuanian’s on transfer deadline day😀
Brighton have 43 players on their books, so 12 more to come in for the Jambos

    It’s brilliant.

They really do think that they will sell all these players for huge profits.

I’ve really enjoyed the anger from a few that JTA recommend Kuhn to Como from Celtic. That there’s somehow a conflict of interest in recommending “a rivals” players and helping Celtic makes millions, thus strengthening them.

I’ve heard there’s the pre season ping pong tournament trophy taking pride of place in there? Along with the “team that most folk expected to be relegated but weren’t” shield.

They are an odd bunch. £9m is not actually a huge additional sum when you break down agents fees, transfer fees, salaries over 2 or 3 years.

While the USG model in Belgium has worked out, it has taken a few years to come to fruition.....and Blooms pet project Brighton have done the square root of nothing.

Brighton have made a lot of money by finding cheap talent and selling them on at a huge profit. I think the problem will be attracting players to Scotland, the best talent will want to go to Brighton where there are higher wages, you will develop more as a player and be in Premier league shop window. Hearts will essentially get Brighton and USG rejects.

I dont think attracting players to hearts will be any different to attracting players to USG tbh. Most of their incoming players are lesser names from more minor leagues, its a great opportunity for them.

The problem hearts will have is that Celtic wont ignore the threat like Club Brugge did - and Celtic have been using the player trading model for years now (e.g. Matt O Riley, £27m profit in 2 years !).

I dont think the dafter hearts fans really get how expensive it is to sign and pay players is though - a £200k salary over 3 years plus agents fees, transfer fee, NI etc turns into £1m.

Blooms £9m has to stretch a long way to get hearts anywhere near Celtic.

n.b. people like to talk up the big fees Brighton have made, but since their promotion in 2017 they are still in the red on transfer deals.

Shankland is now a club legend, in the same bracket as John Robertson, according to failed manager and nasal whining enthusiast Steven Naismith:

    https://www.bbc.com/sport/football/a...s/cn86xp36zgqo

Even to a Hibs fan, that's disrespectful AF to Robertson.

I would not knock Brighton either. They have come from the fourth level of English football in 2001 to finishing as high as 6th in the EPL and qualifying for Europe. 6th is a considerable achievement given the resources of the big clubs in the EPL.They had 14 years without a ground and now have an all seater stadium.
