Things start to go against Djokovic and like clockwork he calls for a medical timeout. Then lo and behold from looking like he needs a stretcher he's like a man reborn to breeze through the next set, having successfully derailed his opponent's momentum. A miracle!
He did that against Murray in a couple of Aussie finals. Hated him ever since

Poor Nowak having a terrible time with his eyes now. Sun shining on them. Poor chap.

A lot of fans don't like him simply because he's not Federer or Nadal and doesn't really provide much in the way of flair. Plus he does have a bit of a cyborg/pantomime villain air about him. You can see that not being a fans favourite really gets to him and he completely misread the crowd at Wimbledon last year when he thought they were booing him.

Personally I was turned off him by his arrogant behaviour during the Covid epidemic.
Yeh, Covid was when he really confirmed what a tool he is. Not so much the refusal to get vaccinated but the hosting of a big super-spreader event and then swanning around Europe in the full knowledge he'd tested positive.

To be fair, Cilic is a world class player and has been pretty much unplayable in those opening 2 sets.

Incredible tennis from Cilic given he’s fallen in the rankings.

No doubt. It was never the walk in the park that it was dressed up to be. Outstanding tennis from Cilic.

Cracking player and always been a bit underrated due to the era he emerged in.

Disappointed for Draper but you can see he's got the quality and he'll hopefully learn from this.

Just watching the British girl Sonay Kartal reach the fourth round. Bit under the radar compared to Radacanu but she looks a great player.

    Impressive win for him.

Can't see Radacanu completing a good day for the British players unfortunately. She's playing the world No 1.

What a match this is. Raducanu loses first set by a whisker on the tiebreak, Raducanu a break up in the 2nd set. Very high standard.

Sabalenka just too good in the end. Raducanu obviously on an upward trajectory though.

Fine margins to coin a cliche. If she could have taken that first set I think she'd have sprung a shock.

    Excellent match tho.

Good to see Emma playing much better. Would be good if she could have a period of consistency. Think Petchey is a decent coach for her. Think she will have a strong showing at Flushing Meadow

Line calling system fails to call a ball which was clearly out on game point and despite the TV showing it landed out, they replayed the point and Kartal goes on to win the game.

Her opponent took it better than most but it's a chronic failure of the system and a complete lack of common sense as even the umpire signalled it as out.

Kartal loses the set in a tie break.

Mistake to ditch the line judges I think.

Kartal looks good. Edged out by the more experienced player but she's got something about her.

Norrie a set up. Very tight in the second.

Looking like this could go to five sets for Norrie.

Jarry's first serve power is just ridiculous.

I was watching the Norrie match but the other guy was starting to do my head in so I switched it off. I find that with tennis when I'm rooting for a particular player (especially when it came to watching Andy Murray) I build up so much resentment for the other player that I can't enjoy match!

Kind of why I never watch Edinburgh derbies!

Strolling the 5th now. That should be him in the QF’s

Brilliant from Norrie. A really gruelling effort but he's always had so much stamina.

I found the Norrie match a drag. Servefest, tiebreaker after tiebreaker, no decent rallies, kind of like watching Sampras-era mens tennis.

Did i misunderstand or did Pat Cash just suggest Rublev simply needed to pull himself together when mentioning his anxiety and depression? I hope i did.

Quite enjoyed the Norrie game to be honest quite intense in the tie breakers

Agree really surprised the player didn’t kick up at the time. Seemed ridiculous
