43 deaths including 15 children which is terrible in itself but reading that the Guadalupe river rose 26FT in just 45 Minutes and has wiped out a girls summer camp and there are reports that up to 30 girls are missing. Thoughts and prayers to all their families and hopefully some of them at least are found alive.

That's horrendous, surely there must have been some sort of weather warning? Just think of all these yellow alerts etc we get over here.
Can't help but feel for everyone involved

Also, apparently Texas puts out emergency alerts all the time when police are involved in any kind of drama so a lot of Texans have disabled the alerts on their phone as they were sick of them.

Coincidentally day after tomorrow was on ch4 last night. Extreme weather taking place within days/hours. A film that was shot over 20 years ago yet we don’t seem to be heeding the warnings

As a hydrologist, I can’t get my head around the extreme nature of the flood event. 26ft in 45 minutes is incredible.
It's hard to stitch my own back with these shaky hands
But even harder to accept the scars you left were planned

But it's very important that these cuts were made so Trump could allow tax cuts for billionaires.

Happened in 2015 in Wimberley which is also in the Hill Country where there were homes washed away and loss of life. We visited in 2005 and kayaked the Blanco river. Lots of houses and camps based around the river and I imagine the Guadalupe is exactly the same.
No doubt there will be prayers offered by the those in government when it's warning systems that are required.
