He has been going to my gym for the last 3ish months. I’ve not really seen what he’s doing after the op a few weeks ago, but prior to that, all I’ve seen him doing is stretching and some fairly tentative supported squats using bands, as well as some weights stuff. I’m no physio, and I’ve no idea what else he’s doing, but he looks a good bit away from proper training.

JN will still have huge role to play off the pitch. We have good leaders on the pitch even without Joe and we now have no shortage of midfielders too. His contribution off the pitch was massive last season and I'm sure he'll do all he can again. I look forward to seeing him back in contention for selection but he shouldn't try to return sooner than his body will permit.

I agree, he's almost the forgotten man at the moment but that speaks to how good we were in the middle of the park from at least December last year, Joe Newell was once the talisman and it will be good to have him back.
