Some road systems are crazy, I went to Manchester for work about 15 years ago, pre satnav days. To get to the hotel, I had to drive past it on the other side of the road, then drive an exaggerated ‘figure of 8’ type journey in order to get to the carpark behind it, because of the road system in that part of the city. Mental 😂

So here is the thing
The wife had a flat battery last night in Dunfermline ( 3/7)
She phoned the AA and they refused to come because the car wasn’t Road taxed
The car was taxed for one year on 1/7 at the Post Office but it hadn’t registered yet on the DVLA system sometimes it takes a few days to register
They asked to see the receipt as proof the car was taxed but that of course was back home in Edinburgh
We tried to get the laddie to find the receipt and email it to them but no luck finding it
Long story short we left the car found the receipt and they sent their man out to boost the battery
The car was outside the oldest laddies house and he had the keys
At first they asked us to go back and stand beside the car …no !
So why will they not come to a breakdown if they think a car isn’t taxed ??Last edited by BILLYHIBS; Yesterday at 12:28 PM.

I might be wrong about this but is there not a grace period after the road tax runs out, possibly 14 days, so the AA should still have responded.
Maybe in this digital age where everything is immediate that no longer applies. There is no such thing as too much yarn, just not enough time.

Someone suggested doing it online going forward as that seems to be immediate?
