We were all watching Youan, in particular, and many not wanting to see anything positive. I, like many, am not a great fan but what I saw of him in that match was that he was targeted and constantly fouled. What I also saw was that he has more footballing talent than virtually anyone else on the pitch.
People should remember that that was his first playing action since before New Year after recovering from long term injury- he's not going to be firing on all cylinders from the off, is he?

Commentator getting some stick, thought he was very knowledgeable and made a very bland and slow match slightly interesting

You an was absolutely fine. It was a bounce game, nothing more.

Commentator was motm for managing to keep talking through what was a non event in terms of a watch.

Thought Manneh showed up well for his 30 minutes. I think he'll skoosh it in our midfield in the SPFL.

I think some need to look up the word "supporter".

It must be awful for some of the "home" players to read some of the guff written about them or their teammates, on a so-called fan site.
I couldn’t agree more! Surely fans sites of other clubs are not as bad. I know many may not agree, but the main objective should be to encourage our players.

If anyone needed confirmation of this they only need to look at the turnaround in Rocky Bushiri. The man was slaughtered by some fans and his game suffered. Look at him now!!!!

Yep, think he looks a very classy player.

Composed and good range of passing, thought he showed against rangers he’s got the other side to his game too

Look forward to seeing him this season

I'm surprised people watch/tune into a pre-season friendly excepting anything other than a borefest.

Think there’s a reason they did it closed doors. It’s giving players a run out (and the youngsters a chance to play with and against seasoned pros), nothing else.

"Unfortunately following discussions with local authorities in the Netherlands, the game will have to be played behind-closed-doors."

That's the reason Hibs gave for it being behind closed doors. If it was because they wanted to avoid fans reading too much into a preseason kickabout, they wouldn't have agreed to it being streamed.

He was on the end of a fairly cynical tackle from behind when he made a burst through the midfield. Didn't like it and went looking for the guy who tackled him.

You can't judge anyone properly on a game like that, positively or negatively. It's a kickabout on tired legs.

I watched the game, in between the numerous black screen outages. It was exactly as you might have expected pre-match, with the only surprise being the young left back/left sided centre half Lewis Gillie. He only just turned 17 in June by the looks of it, and I thought he looked really promising and composed for his age. Seems a decent size already and I'm looking forward to seeing more of him.

We know there were numerous first team players who didn't feature today for one reason or another, and we only have 3 games arranged between now and the first Europa League tie away in Denmark. I worry that the minutes the players will get with so much rotation in those 3 games will mean we'll go into that first Europa tie undercooked. I suppose we'll see, but it would have been good to have a game between Rot-Weiss Essen on 9th July and Bolton on 19th July. I know we'll probably play a closed-door game in that period, but another 90 minutes in front of fans at that stage would've been good for the squad I feel.

Is that maybe when they are heading down to Bournemouth?

Gillie reminded me of Josh Doig. Looks promising

We play Bournemouth on the 15th down there, albeit closed door.

I wouldn’t be surprised if we have some kind of closed door game in between Essen and Bournemouth before we head down there as well.

Fair enough, its was still a closed door game & basically a conditioning exercise

Thanks, I did think we'd probably arranged some closed door/bounce game in that period. I just don't think that's the best preparation for such an important game only a few days later though.

I would've liked us to have more one or two more games in front of fans against teams about to start their season, rather than a closed door game against Bournemouth's U23 side.

Anyway, hopefully nobody picked up any injuries today and that we can integrate more of the first teamers into the 11 against Ajax.

We'd have won 5-0 if we were wearing white socks.

In front of fans or not, doesn’t make a great deal of difference I don’t think.

Reading about Midtjylland and their first pre season game earlier this week, it was played at their training ground so most teams in the same boat at this time of year. One advantage they will have is playing a competitive game the weekend before.

Bournemouth won’t be their 23s, they will be behind us in pre season but it’ll still be a test.

Bolton should be a test as well, they will be at the same stage as us.

Ajax and Essen may be useful playing against different styles with Europe in mind but still really early.

I don't think there was anything wrong with Youan today, while not doing much attacking wise thought he worked hard and took on the instructions with no fuss wanting to help his team mates, did get roughed up a little in the second and gave it back a bit but nothing wrong with that, showed fight.

Again like i said earlier i was impressed with Gillie who might be ahead of Oscar now who probably looks to be leaving? Both Jacob and Deano worked hard, I'm sure it was Cleland who had the chance in the second half when he was though on goal but looked a little tired?

I'm sure the like's of Bowie, Boyle, Rocky etc will get minutes vs Ajax, was going to pay for it but glad i didn't now with the issues some seem to have had, the popular streaming website is still up, just under a different webpage with it now being .SC and not .Com (sorry if I've broken any rules admin and delete if needed)

I didn’t think any hibs player, was particularly good or bad, in a game getting players up to speed, the excellent commentator , mentioned the hibs players had already done some work before the game.
Dean Cleland had the horrendous job of closing down the defenders, and I thought he showed a lot of enthusiasm for 90 minutes on a very hot day, he was also unlucky with our only shot on goal.
    Friendly game Thats all.
