Jordan Smith really is a more than decent goalie. Sallinger may have a wait to get the gloves in a competitive game.
    For sure

Having proper competition for the gloves should help him develop even more.

Basically the development side on the park now. Good run out regardless of the result. The commentator said something about this team being league 1 standard. Did he mean league 1 scotland or England?

There’s no chance with a surname Jimenez that he’s not going to be good

Maybe Dutch League 1? Certainly won’t be league 1 Scotland, that’s our third tier. League 1 England would be about our level.

The best thing about this has been hearing the instructions from the sidelines

Really clear and talking some younger guys through the game, exactly what you'd want as a young player

I've been enjoying the occasional very loud shouts in German from their dugout. The boy could be shouting the most encouraging words in the world but in that accent it sounds absolutely raging.

    PERSEVERE
    Verb: pə:ːsɪ'ˈvɪə/
    To not give up.
    To go the distance.
    To stop at nothing.

I should’ve recorded this just in case the bairn struggles to get to sleep again tonight.

Are they not German 4th tier, so could well be our League 1.

The live updates on Hibs Observer are more informative than here as can't get anything on the fire stick.

Main thing is getting legs in the tank regardless of result as always but be nice to get a couple goals for confidence for some players going into more games in build up to season.

Tbh German third tier is likely on par with English League 1.

Sure they beat Essen in a final at end of season also.

Be more like our full team against Ajax as we finished this game with basically 5 development players on the left hand side.

To last the whole match in that heat as well

  26. #205
A decent run out, second half mostly younger players, would expect some bigger names to get a run out vs Ajax.

  27. #206
Well, out of all the games I’ve ever watched, that was certainly one.

They will be absolutely floored. Hard double sessions all week then into a game today.

It's all about the fitness. Sure it will be the same for the rest of the trip and leading into the Essen game then we'll start to ease it down with a view to getting competitive game ready.

It will be a totally different experience form how we normally prepare for games and they'll be feeling it.
