Yes brilliant by c4 genuinely the only place i tend to go to get what i think is much more like the real news. When excellent reporters like Maitliss and Sopel leave the bbc because of increased editorial control we really should listen and question that organisation and its motives. 2014 Brexit giving the most corrupt government ever run by Johnson an easy ride you know something stinksThis quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. How does the anti Palestine stance of the BBC tie in with them broadcasting live "death to the IDF" chants?

Or do you think the headlines are somehow unbalanced? The criminal investigation is an established fact, which the BBC will have corroborated with the police so the headline is fair. The difficulty in obtaining accurate information from Gaza is well documented, so the BBC are having to rely on information provided to them from other sources ie they can't corroborate it as 100% accurate. Here again the headline is fair.

Headline 2: criminal acts by Israeli forces on civilians is just an every day occurrence now. There is no such thing as too much yarn, just not enough time.

I note that that at present the most read story (ie the one in the No 1 spot) is the one about the dad jumping off a cruise ship to save his daughter.

Yeah, just what Hibspur saild. They’re from the list of top ten most read stories on the BBC website. The list constantly updates throughout the day.
Here’s the current top 5. Sorry, I don’t know how to paste an actual pic of it.

It's about the perception of crime. Police investigate whether a couple of bands at Glastonbury committed crimes through their words and actions or just another murderous day in Gaza where yet more innocent people are killed by foreign soldiers occupying their land.
You might be offended by what was said at Glastonbury but the whole world is offended by the murders of innocent Palestinians. There is no such thing as too much yarn, just not enough time.

I don't know what's proving so hard about this to understand for some posters. The original post showed a screenshot of what happened to be second and third most-read stories by the general public on the BBC website at that particular time of day. Just because more people were reading about Glastonbury than Gaza doesn't equate to BBC bias.
If you take a look at the website now, the most-read story is the Lucy Letby one, followed by a story of house prices falling. At the time the Glastonbury and Gaza stories were number two and three the most-read story was the one about the dad jumping off the cruise ship to save his daughter. Are the people reading about that story biased because they prioritised it over a story about Gaza?Last edited by Hibspur; Yesterday at 03:48 PM.

I think there are 2 different arguments going on here.
Do I believe the BBC have upheld their duty of impartiality and balance when covering the story on Gaza? A resounding no.
That's nothing to do with the order of the stories in the 'most read' column though. It's as it says on the tin really; that's a list in order of the most read stories on their site. You'll occasionally notice a story from years ago resurfacing in that section for whatever reason.
I know it's not a popular thing to do but I think there are times the BBC deserve credit for pushing stories that don't feature in the most read section. A good example would be during the COP summits, 26 in Glasgow was notable. Not a single story from it featured in the most read top 10 but they kept it front and centre on the landing page and every section where it was relevant for days. I'm not convinced many, if any, commercial news outlets would do that if it wasn't getting clicks.

I don't have a strong view on the alleged BBC bias from either side, but the BBC didn't know they were going to make that chant, so I don't really see it as evidence of 'impartiality' or whatever.
As soon as they were made aware of it, they pulled the videos from iPlayer (which I personally think is fair enough)

They were broadcasting a live event, they didn't know what was going to happen, it was live.
Can you, or someone, anyone please, explain to me why they should stop broadcasting a live event because of what's being sung on a music festival stage?

My point is why should they stop a live broadcast, it's a real live event.
Isn't it their job to show what's actually happening, not some edited version?Last edited by babahibs; Yesterday at 07:10 PM.
