Chinese chicken curry and chips , It's never changed for me since my dad used to share his with me when he got home from the pub when i was about 8 or 9

40 years later it's still my favourite food and i can honestly hand on heart say i have never ever ordered anything bar this from the chinese

You do know that boshintang is virtually impossible to get hold of outside of rural Korea and 99.9% of koreans dont eat dogs, right? Its a football chant with a xenophobic element to it, nothing else.

I didn't know much of that. Why would I? Although, I did care enough to find out that Nureongi were the type of dog bread for their meat. I had to google it again just now because the name didn't immediately spring to mind.

Probably not (seemingly a good source of protein, and quite lean). Similarly, I remember the scandal about horse meat in findus crispy pancakes. Not many would go for it now but im sure they said horse meat was quite popular on Britain at one time or another.

I used to use Wongs, but my wife loves the Crispy Shredded Beef with Hot and Sweet Sauce from the Manor House. I always ask for extra veg on the Salt and Chilli Chicken Wings

As an aside have you tried any of the Korean food from Wongs yet, I haven’t but would be interested to hear of any of your favourites

No haven’t tried it yet, always say I will but end up going for our regular Chinese dishes instead.

Will give that a go. I love Korean food but there’s not a huge amount of options. I go to Kim’s Bulgogi on St Stephen Street just now if I want Korean food.

We stay just up the road so are there fairly regularly. Try the raja nahari gohst, it’s phenomenal.

Another vote for Gautams here. Best Indian in the area imo. Pricey for takeaway but that’s because it’s a restaurant.

Table booked for teatime. The raja nahari gohst is my first choice at the moment but things could change.

I was in picking up a takeaway a week or so ago and its been redecorated to a very nice standard. Place was packed and a really good vibe. I said to my wife when I got back that we’ll need to go for a sit down there soon. Lovely place.

Definite downside to living in peebles is on days like today, when I'm severely hungover and craving takeaway food there's just now that really hit the spot.

Ended up with a beef curry from Chinese which was edible and done a job but I do miss my options from living in Midlothian

House of Shah in Hamilton is quality, usually go for the South Indian Garlic Chilli Chicken King Naan (basically a pizza but with naan as the base and the curry as the sauce and toppings with loads of cheese over it). Magnificent.
