Exit fears? He’s already left and is a free agent following the expiry of his contract.

The way the BBC fawn over him is nauseating. Last season just glossed over as 'less prolific.'

You'd guess that if he's not travelled with the squad he's off to another club.

It sure is however I wouldn’t expect anything less from them.

I think I read somewhere that he’s contracted to them until 30th June so maybe cannot say anything until his contract ends?

Another way of seeing it. If we bring in a 1st team striker. Who gets benched, Bowie or Boyle?
    It’s a long long season

Boyle will be first name on the team sheet and rightly so.
My main concern about Boyle is how reliant we still are on him.

In spite of putting together a much better team and in spite of number of handy players he remains our talisman and most important player.

When we don’t play well it is often because teams have managed to effectively snuff out his threat.

He’ll be a huge miss when he either leaves or the deterioration that some are talking about as if it’s already been happening (it’s not) does happen.

I'm pretty sure they will, they will still want a decent wedge though. I'm not sure what clubs are in for him either?

The other option is they put him out on loan for another season in the hope he goes to the World Cup and plays and it could push his value up.
If they are spending 35mil on players you start to wonder if it really matters to them whether Triantis goes for 500K or 3mil. If the player wanted to leave it wouldn't be in their interest to make it difficult.

McInnes seriously quoted as saying he can score 25-30 goals in the right team. The guy scored 8 goals last season and looked completely unfit.

I suppose the same argument could be said that if we are spending £1.5 Million on Triantis, was difference does it make if we let NMH go for £40k or £100k. You can still bet the club made sure we got a fair deal and you can’t blame Sunderland for doing the same. A million here and there quickly add up to a meaningful amount to even the biggest clubs and they have a duty to get a fair deal for their assets.

That said, can’t see them holding out for the sake of an extra 100k or so. You’d think by now Hibs would know of the deal is miles away or likely to happen. The only factor is Sunderland or the player might be holding for another clubs interest.

No chance anyone's paying a million quid for a championship player. 200-300k plus a sell on will be the ball park

In fairness he did score 24 league goals the previous season so he’s probably not wrong.

Triantis apparently cost them £300k only two years ago, so if Hibs offer £1M plus add ons, plus he's off their payroll for the next two years plus whatever Hibs have paid in the last 18 months to have him on loan that makes Sunderland a good wedge on their investment.

i don’t completely disagree with McInnes. Ok, 25-30 might be a bit much but he was starting to the bang them in towards the end of the season, although admittedly mostly in the bottom 6. Just have this feeling that McInnes might well get him going and really finding the net again. Don’t want him anywhere near the PBS next season so hopefully someone does come in for him.

Something like 11 of those were penalties.

We need 3 first choice strikers to manage the team demands this season, and one back up. Bowie and Boyle will not start every game

Frankenhead clearly doesn’t want to be at the Jambos. If he did, he’d have signed by now. They’ve been offering him contracts for about the last 9 months.

He’ll only sign on again as a last resort. And then how motivated will he be ?

Correct! It must be the longest running saga in Scottish football history.

I don’t think they will either and if Bowie picked up an injury we’d have no physical presence upfront at all .

Jambo pal says he was offered 14k pw a year ago and it's now close to half that in line with their wage structure. That seems to be a sore one for him to take. Jambo pal wants him gone.

If that’s true, it’s a decision which will likely have cost him well over £1m in earnings - that could have paid for a lot of pizza & kebabs.

There a business it definitely matters if it's 500k or 3mil.. if it didn't they shouldn't be running the business and would be incompetent..

Couple posters on the Bounce seem to think Hoilett and Triantis are signing. Would be outstanding if both come off.
