Josh Mulligan - Welcome to Hibs

Welcome to Hibs Josh Mulligan. This is another one to be excited about, delighted he has chosen Hibernian FC to move his career forward.

    Every gimmick hungry yob,
Digging gold from rock and roll
Grabs the mic to tell us,
    He'll die before he's sold.

I thought he was by far their best player when he came to ER last. He ran through our midfield at will. Absolutely delighted to hear this.

Yes was impressive in that game powerful and decent on the ball

158 games played at the age of 22, good blend of experience with room to develop.

Interesting the press release described him as a DM that can play at right wing back. I always thought it was the other way round

If going back a while ago and someone offered me a choice of signing Mulligan or Cameron for Hibs . I would have chosen Mulligan every time . Cracking signing , really happy with this .

Dundee were a Jekyll and Hyde team last season, horrendous at the back but good going forward, I put that down to Mulligan playing in the middle where he is good on the ball and likes running at people. This to me is a tremendous signing at a good age 22 it looks to me like we have taken the best from Dundee and I'm delighted with this bit of business, welcome to Hibs Josh.

He could be on the plane to the world cup finals as Scotland right wing back in 10-11 months time

Will we play him in midfield or defence? What's his best position?

Totally agree about Mulligan. Always impressive. It was noticeable how much Dundee missed Shaughnessy in defence. Shame he’s not a decade younger otherwise I’d hope Hibs were looking at him too.

On the You Tube of his best bits somebody shared Hibs were shown twice ... on both occasions we had to foul him to stop his forward progress

This looks like a quality signing ...... welcome to Hibs Josh

So far we are bloody 'ROCKING' this window ..... Triantis and a decent striker would take us into dreamland

He really looks like the radio presenter and podcaster (he's on the Peter Crouch podcast) Chris Stark.

Welcome Josh , all the very best.

This is the first player since John McGinn where we have singed an early 20's player who has loads of first team Scottish Prem games under their belts, played regular Scottish U21 and was a key player in their team. Getting him for 'only' a development fee is a total bargain.

If we want to play regularly in Europe then we need Scottish developed players to feature heavily to keep to the rules.
I predict we will see multi million pound transfer in 2/3 years (which is why i'm sure we have negotiated 4 year deal) after he becomes one of our main players and a fans fav.

Ooft picking his up on his contract expiring is a bit of a bonus. I like these sort of signings, guys with good experience at our level and room to improve as you have a good idea what you are going to get.

I keep going back to what Malky said in his first interview about reducing the risk when making signings by getting guys with an increased certainty of it working out as a success. I'd say this is another one as promised along those lines - pleased we have moved away from that short Bojang period of scatter gun signing young guys from all over the place to get 1 in 10 that works to sell for a fee.

Likes to break up play and initiate counter attacks with clever passing. Could he be the new Matty Jack

I'm starting to fall back in love with my club, by increment. This feels like a right good signing.

    Welcome to the bright side.

He looked much more than a CDM type to me , hes definitely got the ability to go past players and be box to box. Really excited by this.

So we think we will be using him most as a midfielder? Good to have versatile players who can play in different positions, was hoping he was going to be pushing for rwb in a position he's played before, anyway looks an exciting player.

Good player and delighted he has signed but hopefully not as a triantis replacement. Hopefully eh… is correct and triantis is on his way..

It’s an absolutely brilliant signing and one I’ve wanted us to make for quite a while now.

A very strong and power runner who is also a very good dribbler. Definitely better as a right wing back than a centre mid imo.

Still really young and played a good number of games for his age.

Improves our team quite a bit imo.
