Ranty, unhinged, think they're popular when the truth is they aren't, not a stranger to the administrators calling by, everything they do is the bigliest and best?
Those traits adequately describe both parties here.

That coming from the guy that looks like the results of a prison pottery class."...when Hibs won the Scottish Cup final and that celebration, Sunshine on Leith? I don’t think there’s a better football celebration ever in the game.”

Trump reminds me of Sturgeon in many ways. Endlessly divisive, never wrong, always somebody else's fault

But that rant about the media is no different to some of the rants I see on X about the BBC and their journalists by some of the more extreme Indy supporters. The MSM account that is linked here is nasty one, basically set up to abuse journalists and people seem comfortable with that as it agrees with their own views.

The comparison of Trump to Sturgeon is just laughable, beyond comprehension in all honesty and there simply isn't a debate to be had."...when Hibs won the Scottish Cup final and that celebration, Sunshine on Leith? I don’t think there’s a better football celebration ever in the game.”

I know it would be welcomed by more than the extreme minority. It would be welcomed by many.

for the first time i thought right i'm going to listen to this bum Hegseth, he's spent a full five minutes pointing at the gathered press just how bad they are because they're not sucking Trump's tiny ***k, he's went through a list of how some of the press think Trump is wonderful, then back to attacking the gathered press, it's freakin incredible for how long he's slavered a load of total utter s**te, they just simply do not want ANY of the press wanting people to listen to other views. he's like Trump, talks on and on and on just repeating the same crap over and over again

You're comparing an elected president to a fringe element of a movement.
For the record it would depend on the context, if Swinney was being as obnoxious and unpleasant as Trump has been then I would want him sacked actually.
If there was some debate to be had over the subject I don't know, it would depend on how I felt about the situation.
Swinney, for all his faults and blandness as a Politician, wouldn't behave the way Trump has anyway."...when Hibs won the Scottish Cup final and that celebration, Sunshine on Leith? I don’t think there’s a better football celebration ever in the game.”

It’s the absolute ultimate straw man argument.
So what would you be saying if your favoured politicians started acting like immature 4 year olds? I bet you’d back them! Knowing fine well we’ll never need to worry about that.
Comparing the most powerful man on the planet and random folk on Twitter as if they hold the same levels of importance/clout when they talk is laughable.

"Nicola Sturgeon introduced major policies like the Scottish Child Payment to tackle child poverty, boosting support for low-income families and setting legal targets. However, official stats show child poverty rates in Scotland stayed roughly the same during her time as First Minister—about 24% of children lived in poverty, up slightly from 23% when she started. Forecasts suggest recent measures may help meet future targets, but a big drop in child poverty didn’t happen while she was in office"
It seems to get confusing when you look at absolute and relative poverty and if you do or don't include housing costs etc. It's one of those stats that can probably be made to look it what you want it to look like.Last edited by jamie_1875; 26-06-2025 at 04:11 PM.

Is there a Caledonian version of Godwin's Law, one that says "anything wrong with the world is the fault of..... insert your own favourite Scottish demon..."?
Any chance we can save the Scottish ***** for the appropriate threads? There's plenty of them....
Trump anyone?
