I think I'll take my chances.
We survived without him in Europe previously, we'll move on without him.
Hibernian football club doesn't revolve around Elie Youan.

One of the most unnecessary debates I've ever seen on here and that says a lot.

Funnily enough, it's the same people posting the same stuff over and over again the compels others to respond. Pretending you heard it from someone (anyone) at East Mains is pathetic, especially when it fuels dislike of a player that isn't merited.
I'm comfortable with Paulie Walnuts and others debunking the crap said about Youan.
FWIW, I've not heard that Youan is much liked by players and coaching team at Hibs, that he's a hard working guy on the training field and that he felt thwarted by Hibs not giving the opportunity to move when bids were made last year. Bids that we won't get close to when he does leave. Playing hardball is fine, but we never managed that situation well.
I just made that up, but suspect it's a heck of a lot closer to reality than the gash about attitude, faking injury etc.

Worth mentioning that Elie was at Ron Gordon’s charity game at HTC on Saturday, chatting with fans and getting pictures with kids. Didn’t strike me as someone with a stinking attitude.

He hasn't been racially abused, if you look on social media however, I bet you not many players have taken the amount of stick that Joe has over the years though, doesn't fit your agenda though does it.
Why didn't Hanlon, Stevenson or Josh Campbell attempt to square go fans after the amount of absolute unnecessary **** they've taken over the years or why didn't they tell fans to F*** O** on social media or tell fans they wouldn't be here for much longer?

I'm a fan of Youan's football ability, but think his Hibs career has run it's course. I do take umbrage at accusations about faking injury etc, etc.

So far on this thread we’ve been told of his attitude problem due to tweets he replied to (where he was racially abused, yet it’s Youan that’s the problem here), we’ve had it decided he doesn’t get the leeway Joe Newell does because he doesn’t do enough charity work yet the poster clearly has no idea whether he does any charity work, but why not throw that one out there anyway, and we’ve had yet more posts insinuating he’s not injured despite the fact the guy is paying for his own specialist to get to the bottom of his injury.
Not one poster on here has observed that Youan is faking injuries, yet they continue to push the idea he is. This feeds into the idea he has an attitude problem. Joe Newell has also had an injury, one that’s also taken longer to heal than first expected, exactly like Youan. There’s absolutely no ‘oh no my big toe’ type pish aimed at Joe Newell though and following on from that, there’s no suggestions Joe Newell has an attitude problem.
Youan ‘has an attitude problem’ because people have fabricated numerous scenarios to create the idea he has one, which is ****ing bizarre when you consider how many big performances and iconic moments he’s given to the club.Last edited by Paulie Walnuts; 24-06-2025 at 09:44 AM.

Can you confirm word for word where I confirmed Youan doesn't do charity work? Another lie.
Joe gets leeway because of the amount of time he's spent playing through injury when he didn't need to and has potentially shortened his playing career doing so, not to forget the outstanding leadership he shows on and off the park and playing a huge part in the togetherness we are currently seeing at hibs between the academy/woman/first team and fans.
However you'd be seriously mistaken if you somehow think Joe Newell hasn't taken a serious amount of flack from hibs fans in his time here, all you'd need to do is look on social media so your point is redundant.

Elie Youan isn't the only current hibs player who takes stick on this site although your acting as if he does.

Fellas ?! Can we get back on topic it’s the clue is in the thread. I do like the odd tangential insight but using a thread on one player to drag in and down another…

JN will still have huge role to play off the pitch. We have good leaders on the pitch even without Joe and we now have no shortage of midfielders too. His contribution off the pitch was massive last season and I'm sure he'll do all he can again. I look forward to seeing him back in contention for selection but he shouldn't try to return sooner than his body will permit.
