Once overheard two rather loud Americans who were a bit perturbed that the food on an Italian menu in Italy was mostly foreign, but they did agree that a Tuna sounded like "some kinda fish".

Brings to mind the old story about American tourist asking which was there first, the castle or the railway line. 🤷
When I worked in TGI Fridays in Castle Street I had a couple of Americans tell me how much they loved the city. Particularly, as the castle has been build so close to the train station and Princess Street with all the great shops. I thought he was having a laugh but he was deadly serious.

Hibs must have accommodation down there, Gayle was always walking about the place .
I used to meet Peter's Marinello and Cormack walking along to the prom at the bottom of Tower/Figgate Street regularly.

Hibs player accommodation is opposite the Kings Manor Hotel in Milton Road, seen many a player at the local newsagents including Stubbs.

Higginbottom stayed in Calvary Park whilst he was here, not sure if it was Hibs owned or he was getting his rent paid for.

Peter Marinello comes from there. My wife worked with his sister.

The Northern Echo not really reporting anything new but thought id share it anyway 😁

Nectar Triantis is another Sunderland defender who could be on the move this summer with Hibernian now in advanced talks over a permanent deal for the Australian, who played as a central midfielder for most of last season’s loan spell at Easter Road.

Triantis made 28 appearances as Hibs finished third in the Scottish Premier League and qualified for Europe last term, with their manager, David Gray, keen to conclude a permanent deal this summer.

Triantis does not feature in Le Bris’ plans for next season, but Sunderland are determined to get the best possible deal for the 22-year-old.

Come to beautiful Edinburgh they said with unlimited rides on the ghost train. Is that even there anymore?
Not there any more. Fun City long gone.

My first summer job was pushing the cars into the ghost train.

“Advanced talks” sounds very promising, here’s hoping for some good news in the next few days.

When Gray specifically spoke about positive talks yesterday that was definitely, a positive (stating the obvious) because he very rarely gives anything away.

My auld man was Sergeant Warder of Edinburgh Castle for many years and his constant bugbear was being asked (normally by Yanks) what Time do they fire the One O'Clock Gun. If inclined to answer, he would tell them "12:60"....

Nothing been said. Imagine the anniversary kit will either be used v RWE in July or unveiled at the start of August on the anniversary

If not today, I think we'll see some new faces by the end of the week.

In less than two weeks we have the Ajax game and the first competitive game in just over four weeks time. If we've prepared well for the start of the season, I would expect new signings this week giving them time to be integrated into the squad. Little point signing someone like Manneh and for him to be lacking matchday fitness that prevents them from contributing to what's a hugely important match away in Denmark.

American tourists (they’re the best!) Once asked me, as we were passing Perth, if it was named after the one in Australia.

Based on the hints from the usual "Hibs friendly" outlets I think Triantis and Rocky will sign this week , Hoilett will not
and we will sign another striker before the Euro tie. Anything more will be dependant on moving players out and the
    outcomes in the Euro ties.....

When I worked in the city centre, there were a couple of occasions where American tourists asked why they’d built the castle at the top of a hill as it made it harder to walk to.

Where is the positivity around Rocky coming from? Not been on the thread for a few days but I thought we were told over a week ago to expect bad news on the Rocky front.
