although the Snoop Dogg/Celtic post was in jest, in all seriousness how well would a series of food trucks in the West & East Car Park do on match day?

The standard of street food around the city has never been higher, and would imagine the club would be able to tap into a steady income stream from the land rental for pre-game, and still get kiosk revenue at half time...

It would be a different market to those in hospitality...

I wonder if the club aren’t allowed to?

I’m not sure what the set up is with the catering, however if the catering company gives us X amount a year and get to keep the money made on match day themselves then I’d expect they’d have something in the contract to say that we can’t set anything up to compete with them for customers.

Got to be honest outside of hospitality the food on offer is poor quality and over priced, hence why I go to Greggs before the game and bring the food in, we did have a pizza truck a while back so can be done.....

I hope Hibs aren't reading this, I can't be arsed with being searched for steak bakes and sausage rolls on my way into the stadium

Don't you worry I was stopped by steward and told to eat food outside.... this was over a year ago, I don't hide bringing in food and why should I lol..not been stopped since....

I understand everyone is different and some do like to get food at the game, especially for the kids.

I'll stick to a scotch pie from Baynes before and a white pudding supper after, food stands would be a good idea and something different if allowed.

Poor quality and over priced, you have just described Greggs!

    Aye and no.

I don't really choose to eat at Greggs often but a quick check suggest a Scotch Pie is £2.35 compared to £3.50 at ER. A sausage roll is £1.30 but you can get 4 for the price of 3 all week so £3.90 for 4 or, give or take, the same as 1 pie at the football.

If you accept it's all ultra processed crap then a sausage roll each for a family of 4 for £3.90 total or a pie each for £9.40 both represent far better value than £14 for comparable at the stadium.

What Greggs are they prices at?

A sausage roll at my local one is £1.65. 4 for £4.95

Your point still stands on the prices versus what it costs at the football

The prices I quoted were for takeaway. Sit-in is normally more expensive.

Not that it really matters lol. Just wondered if I’m getting done 😂

I actually wasn’t comparing it to the stadium food, I stand by my original statement. Greggs can sell their crap cheaper than the stadium as they have worked their way around VAT.

Fair enough but whats your take on what Hibs offer us plebs who can't afford hospitality or slum it at Greggs 🤣vat is an advantage, haven't been to many other grounds recently so don't know if they're all just rubbish....

Even worse is when you stand for ages waiting in the queue and they don't have anything you want left or weren't selling it in the first place.

Supply and demand, if I feel hungry at the game, I will pay for the food, I even visit a Greggs on occasion. You know what you’re getting and just put up with it. I paid £15 for a family steak pie from the butcher in Corstorphine on Tuesday, that was pure quality and value for money in my opinion. And yes I am a pleb who can’t afford hospitality either. 😀

The only one I use is Bankhead and that's definitely the price there. A quick check of the app just now confirms it.

I don't mind paying over the odds, if the food options and quality was better, money is going to the club so happy with that....steak pie from the farm shop at klondyke garden centre a mortonhall is quality too😉
