Roseburn Cycle Path closed by polic

Anyone heard why the Roseburn paths been closed by the police? Was taped off at 6pm on Thursday evening and still closed today (Tuesday). Police saying it’ll likely be closed for the rest of the week.

Nothing being reported and the police staying tight lipped about the reason?

I did see sniffer dogs and metal detectors being brought in.

    Just being nosey really.

Noticed today on my way to and from work. Read stuff online but it’s just similar to what you’ve said above. Very strange. Must be serious to close it off for this long

Friend of mine’s brother is a police officer. All he knows is that they’ve flown in scientists/biologists to review some “findings”.

Did they find the female who went missing from Calder, was a missing person for a while but I’m sure someone was charged with her death though but no body had been found.

Khasha Smith…I don’t believe they did find her but I do remember police focused some of their search in the Gorgie area as a frequently visited place

Unless the police were pursuing someone up the path how on earth did they know it had been dumped there? Maybe someone trading information for a wee bit off their prison time.

I don't know for a fact but it has to have been a pursuit of some kind with the weapon hoyed as they tore off, probably on the back of a Suron(or similar).
That Roseburn path can be like running the gauntlet at certain times if the year with the rats in stolen bikes!

Possibly found by a dog walker or someone else using the path?

Had presumed the length of time it was closed meant the police were searching a specific area rather than someone finding it

Aye, when I first saw the police tape go up I had assumed it was due to someone being hit by the ****bags that fly up and down there on their dirt bikes. Even saw some bam on a quad bike a few months ago going full pelt.

Have seen that before too. Not the widest of paths for pedestrians to move if a quad bike is doing 60mph.

There was a car on the stretch at wardie fairly recent too
