Until recently the only traffic lights in Pitlochry were 2 pedestrian crossings on Atholl road and lights at a narrow railway bridge. A while back I was crossing at one of the pedestrian crossings, lights were red for traffic, when a cyclist came through with no intention of stopping, he was lucky the only things I had in my bag was empty egg cartons as I swung it into his face. Bugger jumped off and came after me but several other pedestrians stopped him in his tracks asking what the hell he was playing at jumping a red light. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Was nearly involved in a plane crash of a head on yesterday thanks to some dickhead boy racer who really needs a differently shaped nose soon.
Doing 40mph along the Riverside in Dundee, and there are three or four cars coming the other direction. I see out of the corner of my eye a blue Corsa approaching the back of that queue, they’re away to overtake at some speed (conservatively I’d say about sixty mph) and slam on the brakes and try to get out of the road.
Rather than back out they keep their feet planted and miss both myself and the campervan coming the other way by literally millimetres (I have genuinely no clue as to how there wasn’t a crash). I’d just been waiting for the impact at that point.
If I’d not been so fortunate to catch them out of the corner of my eye at the back of the queue going the other way then there would have undoubtedly been a very big head on collision. Unfortunately couldn’t get a reg or a look to see who was driving but they’re going to end up killing someone.

Not a Peeve, but driving related. Going through mid calder as a car with a group of young guys pulled out in front of me from a junction and gave me a one finger salute by way of acknowledgement. Quite bizarre but overall harmless and I just gave a laugh and a smile back to them.
I do wonder what goes through some people's heads though.Mon the Hibs.

Had a guy in front of me on the way to Costco tonight doing all sorts of stupid stuff, it actually crossed my mind that he was trying to cause a crash.
He kept braking really suddenly even though no one was in front of him and then would try reverse.
He was either trying to cause a crash or just a horrendous driver.

I just made sure to stay well back from him. He looked like an older gentleman driving so dunno what was going on but he shouldn’t have been driving in any case.

A whole host over the last few days:
People who swing away across the road to create a huge turning circle when turning off a road. Mate you are driving an Audi Q3 not a ****ing artic.
The roadworks at the roundabout after Newton Village near to Millerhill. 4 way temp lights again. The 3rd time this year following on from twice in the 2nd half of last year. What's the point in this stop start nonsense? Just do all the work at once and get it done with. Every single time it's to do with the power and gas supply to the new housing development there so it's not like it's reactive work to carry out carriageway repairs. They know the new homes need these utilities and they know how many homes they are building.
Guys in car parks who accelerate away like a bat out of hell with their engine roaring. Not even young guys either, fully grown men. Do they think everyone looking on thinks they are cool? Every single person with the exception of a tiny minority of other numbskulls like them thinks they are total dicks. Even moreso when they have to brake about 50 yards down the road because it's a supermarket car park and not Silverstone.
People who tailgate learners. They are sticking to the speed limit for a reason; even if you get past them where are you going? Again it's a busy street in Edinburgh not a racetrack, you are going to find yourself behind more traffic in about 15 seconds if you are lucky.PM Awards General Poster of The Year 2015, 2016, 2017. I get it can be frustrating being behind a learner, but what do people think who’ll happen if you’re tailgating them or doing some other kind of dick behaviour? It’ll only make them more nervous and likely to stall or slow down more. Everyone was a learner once, just give them a break and move past safely and sensibly when you can.
Couldn’t agree more about those folk who swerve wide before turning the opposite way, I’ve seen people swing into oncoming traffic to get a bigger turning circle, when they’re driving a Micra, no need at all

Folk who just stop the car in the middle of the road, no indicators just come to a stop and let someone out or in to the car, FFS pull in and indicate, private hire cars are the worst.

People that dont adjust driving whatsoever to the conditions on the road. Took my daughter over to dunfermline from Peebles this morning for a dance show and surface water and rain was terrible. Still had drivers flying down the bypass and the usual sneak as far down as possible in the outside lane before making everyone else adjust their approach to the hermiston gait slip

Will have been said before no doubt - but the potholes all over Edinburgh.
Roads are a **** state throughout the city. Must cost the public many £k’s each year in repairs.
The council are truly hopeless. Must comfortably have the worst roads in Europe.Last edited by SickBoy32; 16-06-2025 at 07:18 PM.

I know it’s been mentioned several times but over the last few days I had had several experiences of idiots turning right and cutting the corner completely right into my path forcing me to brake sharply. I swear some folk just don’t have a clue how to drive correctly. Nearly always happens around residential streets too.

Glasgow. If you don’t know the roads it’s almost impossible to navigate without finding yourself in the wrong lane all of a sudden. I hate it.

I generally hate the place full stop. There’s very little I like about Glasgow, and I totally agree about the road system, it’s awful. I don’t know of anywhere else where a motorway lane joins from the right (becoming another outside lane), and equally then peels off and disappears. There’s also either folk who don’t realise and panic because they don’t want to move off the motorway there, or the chancers who race down that lane then want to barge their way out knowing fine well it goes off in a different direction.
