Just clicked on some evening news article. It's giving odds of clubs to win the league.
It rates the Gorgie bawbags as 16/1 and then next is ourselves and aberdeen at 150/1.
Who writes such pish ? Must be the Mr del effect.
Roll on the new season amd put them in their place again.

Seems a bit exaggerated but B365 has Hearts at 25/1, us at 66 and Aberdeen at 80 so the general trend they're conveying is at least in line with the current bookmaker odds.

Youd think theyve signed up jurgen klopp to manage them when infact they've signed the scottish Harry redknapp, been around forever, won one trophy as a manager, wheeler dealer.Last edited by OstKurve Hibs; 03-06-2025 at 06:46 AM.

There's usually a best of the rest, without the old firm market, pretty mental if we're 10x the price of Hearts for that.

16/1 is outrageously low odds for something that's impossible.
Hearts winning the league ffs 😂😂😂

The odds reflect the betting patterns. That is what the ‘book’ is. Bookies aim to break even at worst on an event (they usually make a profit unless a heavily backed outsider wins) They increase odds on teams to attract bets, hence Hibs at 150/1. If a lot of people like those odds and bet heavily they will drop the Hibs odds and increase the odds on another team i.e Hearts. It is far too early to start making meaningful predictions this early in the pre-season, so the current odds are just to tempt!

No such thing as a poor bookie, much as I feel its stupid they are rarely wrong.
They always have some sort of inside info that we never get.
Its wait and see time, and there will be some muppets will take a punt, just for bravado!!!

I would expect Hibs/Hearts/Aberdeen will be closely matched in the odds to win it without OF.

It's not that far fetched. Hearts split the Old Firm this season.

Probably just based on betting patterns
They were probably a lot higher and after the investment was announced people took a punt on the longer odds

Bookies will shorten odds when they anticipate a high volume of people placing that bet. Hearts are 16/1 because thousands of the delusional fools likely bet on them winning the league each season.

“Michael Stewart didn’t think we were very good when we were bottom of the league, I’m all upset now”.
