HSL announced as significant partner for HFC

    https://www.hibernianfc.co.uk/news/2...ship-with-hsl/

Not sure entirely what it means in practise, but it should be good news for both parties. End of the day we have a group of Hibs fans who want to help and support the club financially.

"We have been working hard with Ian Gordon, Murray Milligen and the team at Easter Road to ensure we can play a positive role in the continued success of Hibernian FC, and we all felt the 150th anniversary was the perfect way to kick things off.

“With a refreshed relationship with the Club we are looking forward to engaging with our members and the wider Hibs support to ensure we can continue to provide meaningful financial backing to David Gray and the Club as a whole.”

Since the turn of the year, HSL have been working closely with the Club on an exciting, landmark project as part of the club’s 150th anniversary celebrations, with details set to be revealed to supporters over the coming days".

Got to be a good thing, good to have the club and HSL pulling in the right direction.

I think this is probably a good thing but I'm not even sure what it all means tbh.

I think we shall see how HSL can channel money into the club.

Sounds positive. If it potentially means more money going into the club and a better working relationship between the majority and minority shareholders then I struggle to see a negative.

HSL have been griping for a long time that their relationship with the club was a bit unclear.

Ron Gordon did not support fan ownership. I’m guessing Ben Kensell did little to improve the relationship. Now Ian Gordon seems to have smoothed the waters.

So long as all parties are clear about what this partnership entails - not always a given in any business arena - this should be a positive step.

Maybe not my place to say but plan a substantial investment in Hibs this year all tied into the 150 year annivesary. The Hibs press/media guy was at the HSL AGM not long back, he never had a lot to say it was just to clarify things between the HSL board and the members.

It all sounded very promising. present.

A 'refreshed relationship' is a bit of a loaded statement.

Has the HSL relationship not been that positive up until now with our new owners?

BKs have little to do with it I think. HSL have been complaining since Ron Gordon took over.

I'm not sure the relationship between the owners and the support has been good since Ron bought the club.

There's been a few things recently that have me thinking that relationship, not just this but with the support in general is very much improving. And long may it continue!

What's the odds this new relationship will cost me £150 😆

Can only be a positive thing IMO.

It's testament to the Gordon family the way they have turned things around both on and off the pitch.

    Long may it continue.

Great news: fans and small shareholders are getting closer to the club.

It's hard to see where any negatives could come from.

You mean “new owners” as in the Gordon family? If so, we all know what happened regarding HSL being able to acquire shares - or not - following Ron’s purchase. Positive or negative for HSL? 🤔

Do HSL still accept donations? I don’t see much of a push from them on that side? Not intended as a dig.

Yes absolutely - and we are hoping to use the partnership to kickstart lots of promotional activity with the club and on our own.

The more we can generate on a regular basis, the more we can continue to invest in the club.

Thanks to offshore for sharing our link.

New members can sign up using the link below, existing members and users can log in to their account after selecting the one off or monthly donation amount and adding it to their cart.

The partnership and associated financial commitment is only possible because of continued contributions from members, and we are committed to encouraging a far larger portion of the support to get on board so we can do even more throughout the season and beyond.

WTF is going on at Hibs ?

They just appear to be doing all the right things at the moment, on and off the park. Anything that helps strengthen the bond between club and fans is welcomed. Great news.

New HSL website working well, I was able to sign up again for monthly contributions having lapsed a while back when my card expired. Great to see closer engagement with the ownership and also great to see more supporters money going into the club. Onwards and upwards.

There's a significant difference in the boardroom.

    No coincidence IMO.

FoH was set up on the back of robbing Lithuanian factory workers, face painters and WW1 charities. In their hour of need the fans stepped up to bank roll these misdeeds and just kept on paying.

We haven't had that type of 'significant event' so it was always harder to entice people to pay more monthly on top of season tickets year on year.

I suspect this push will be to try to ramp this up again.

Hopefully with this positive news and everything going so well around the club, we will see a lot of donations going towards HSL for the first team budget. I stopped my payments a couple years back but will probably go for it again.

Good news for HSL and for the club. When you sign up again, make sure to remember and enter for the Pioneers Experience at home games. You can only win it once a season but worth the monthly donation to HSL on its own. Not to mention the significant contributions HSL have made to the club through share purchase and donations.

To be honest, I stopped my monthly subs a while ago, as I had no idea what was happening with the money or if it was just "resting in an account" ala Father Ted. However, this is great news and I'll be starting it up again now.
