Mentioned this before but it’s linked to this, when the bus lanes are operational and there’s congestion on approach to the bus lane, everyone goes into the outside lane leaving the inside lane up to the bus lane empty. When you do what you are supposed to do, i.e. use both lanes and merge into the outside lane, you get people getting angry at you for skipping the queue. It’s causing more congestion!!

Just this morning on the Glasgow Road, heading West in the bus lane when the clown in the outside lane cuts across in front of me to turn left into David Lloyd with no indication, had to slam on to avoid hitting him.

Did I hear right on the radio that Corstorphine Road from Murrayfield will be down to one lane for 6 months for new pipes to be laid, that will be absolute carnage, starting next month I think.

Unsure how much difference it will make as there's pinch points all the way along from Roseburn to Drum Brae.

Not a driving peeve, but a design one.
Back in the 70s the Ford Capri was a slimline sports car. I saw the new one, and it's a big fat, overwieght thing that needs a load of space. Seems that Ford have updated it to match the shape of us once slim 70s guys.
And I don't like it!

About 75% of drivers at Cameron Toll roundabout. It's not remotely difficult but some seem to think it's the final round of the Krypton Factor.
Woman this morning just about side swiped me as she tried to veer across two lanes to exit. She was taking the first exit so how is it even possible to think being in the right hand lane on approach is correct? She was gesticulating at the 3 other drivers who all blasted their horns at her so clearly thought she was correct rather than it being a mistake. Gesticulating in between cramming the sandwich she was eating into her gob with no hands on the wheel that is.PM Awards General Poster of The Year 2015, 2016, 2017. Probably robbed in other years

One thing they definitely have in common is that their designs are equally horrific.

The overall driving in Edinburgh from folk is poor, folk don’t indicate anymore, some folk don’t drive like they have passed a driving test, FFS you drive round a roundabout not straight across worst place for me is Corstorphine at the roundabout, an utter nightmare with accidents every other week and two people killed last year.

Maybe this might get the approved plans moving forward but I doubt it as the SG seems to think that it’s totally acceptable for the nonsense to continue forever.

My wife was giving me a lift on Friday and she was driving down Restalrig Rd and as were approaching the Morrisons Local, there was a lorry coming the other way and there wasn't enough room for both us and the lorry. The lorry then puts on its hazards so my wife pulls in to a gap to allow the traffic behind the lorry to pass. Lorry driver goes mental at my wife because she pulled into where he was going to park. Indicate right, then pal and she'd maybe have a vague idea of what you were intending to do.

Re-surfacing, or lack of.
South Lanarkshire council seem to be resurfacing by filling in the bigger holes and then slathering some lovely, paint-chipping, windscreen cracking gravel over the top?
Can anyone shed any light on why? Cost will be a factor obviously but does it actually work?"...when Hibs won the Scottish Cup final and that celebration, Sunshine on Leith? I don’t think there’s a better football celebration ever in the game.”

Cyclists who skip red lights. Does my ****ing head in and I type this as a cyclist who witnessed it repeatedly this morning on my own commute to work.
There is already a not insignificant minority of drivers who see cyclists as 'fair game' and these blatant breaches of the laws of the road just ramp up that tension and put the rest of us in danger. 'If they don't respect the rules then why should I respect them' becomes the mentality.
One guy today came flying past me at a 4 way junction, no attempt to or consideration given to stopping or even slowing down, straight across the junction sending a group of pedestrians crossing jumping out the way. He either didn't see them or didn't care, both are as bad and as dangerous as each other.PM Awards General Poster of The Year 2015, 2016, 2017. Probably robbed in other years

It's often cast as cyclists vs drivers but really it's pricks (cyclists, drivers, whoever) vs the rest of us.

However, only when the situation allows. Ie, I’m not impeding any other road user / pedestrian.
I think if common sense is used then there’s no real issue here tbh. (Appreciate common sense is subjective / pretty scarce sometimes!)
The guy you’ve referenced sounds like a total weapon - I’d like to think there’s some distinction between him and myself 😂
