Summer holiday if we're lucky.
Heading to Croatia ahead of the European ties and hoping for a decent draw for a football away trip or two.
If you could go anywhere where would you go for Summer? Always looking for ideas for the future- love Croatia and delighted to be heading back

I've always wanted to go on a safari. South Africa, Kenya or Botswana being the 3 I've really fancied.
India is somewhere else I've always wanted to go. Heard mixed reviews but the big cities just seem so totally mental I'd love to see it.

I've been to India (Goa) and to be honest it's not a place I would rush back to.
It's just a completely different way of life in terms of cleanliness ect, and as much as it's nice experiencing new things it really does take you by surprise.
If it was a place you could get to fairly easily and cheaply, then I'd say it would worth going to, but if I were spending the kind of money needing to get there and atleast a week, I'd probably recommend elsewhere to be honest.

It just doesn't put me off though. Something about it just appeals.Last edited by Pretty Boy; 03-06-2025 at 07:25 PM.

St Kilda.
I’ve wanted to go there for years. I came close to going as part of a weeks sailing trip, Covid stopped that one. A fascinating place with a unique history. One day.Last edited by marinello59; 03-06-2025 at 07:19 PM.
Every gimmick hungry yob,
Digging gold from rock and roll
Grabs the mic to tell us,
He'll die before he's sold.

I'd love to drive across America. I've loved the wee bits of road trips that I've done within the USA - down the Pacific highway, over from Houston to San Antonio and back, from city to city within Florida. I just love stopping, eating in new places, driving along listening to music, spending a bit of time in a place I've never been to before etc. Not sure I fancy it much as I used to since Trump 2 tbh but we'll see how it all pans out later...
My partner did Taiko drumming for a living for a while which took her to Japan for a bit. She's always said she'd love to show me Japan, I wouldn't need any encouragement to go there for a visit.
Neither realistic for now for financial, work and young family logistical reasons, but I would love to make it to Disneyworld whilst the kids are of an age to appreciate it.

I'm at a time in my life where that list is being hit!
Transatlantic, south America to Europe and trans Pacific San Francisco to Australia.
Panama Canal, Suez Canal, walked the Union Canal!
South Africa safari (fabulous PB) then another cruise back to Europe including Seychelles, Mauritius, Petra and others.
Dog sledding in Norway while taking in the Northern Lights beyond the Arctic Circle.
Next year we're off to do a lap of Japan on a cruise during springtime to take in the cherry blossom season, Mt Fuji and a decent bit of sushi!
Major thing still on the list South America again and head south, Iguazu Falls, cruise to the Falklands, Antarctica up the other side of South America taking in Machu Picchu.
EDIT. I was going to ask in a couple of months for tips on Japan if anyone has been.Last edited by Jack; 03-06-2025 at 08:06 PM.

Would love to go to Canada and see more European cities.
Lots of family ties in Canada and despite having done a fair bit of travelling have only ever been to Paris, Budapest and Bilbao on European cities.
Would love to go to the Amalfi coast and do a mini-tour of Northern Italy.
Malta was class and would definitely go back."...when Hibs won the Scottish Cup final and that celebration, Sunshine on Leith? I don’t think there’s a better football celebration ever in the game.”

I've been to other places in Asia that maybe aren't as mental as India but I hope kind of bridge the gap, e.g. I remember thinking WTF is going on in Hanoi when first trying to cross the road.

The names of the places were hilarious. We went on a trip up to Edmonton and passed signs for places like Airdrie and Carstairs.
The Rockies were beautiful though - like Scotland only enormous.

Heading to North Wales next week. Generally do a UK week where we can take the dog with us. Part of the county I've never been to so taking in the coast, Anglesey, Snowden and Portmerion. That last one's a bit of a bu**er as it doesn't allow dogs, so me and the Mrs are taking turns to see the town. Wanted to go there since the first episode of the Prisoner was broadcast in the 60s!
