Only if us, the gunts and sheep are consistent and capable of regularly taking points from the old firm.

According to the bookies we won’t even get third.

Top six but not the top three imho

Hopefully get the boyband back together and win a cup if the draw is good to us

    🙏

I think we will need to improve to hold on to third place.

We had an incredible run for a few months but there is loads to improve on. We weren’t lucky during that period, we earned what we got, but the momentum played a big part and it’s really difficult to get that. We’ll need to win more games to get third next season I think.

Say it every year, but we need to get it spot on this summer. Good thing is there is something positive to build from this year.

Just top 6 wouldn't be great imo. Aberdeen have been poor for months and now have European group stage football by somehow winning the cup. Hearts were in a relegation fight until a few weeks before the last game. They might get a new manager bounce but who knows. Hibs look to be best place for 3rd again imo.

Only one team has secured back to back third place finishes in the last 10 years and that was Rangers.

Are you basing that on odds to win the league? Not the same as betting for who will finish 3rd (win league without the top 2), which won't be priced up for a while yet

We will come third, with an arithmetical chance of second when the league splits. But won’t have quite enough to split the infirm in those last 5 matches. SDG and MM are the real deal.. you read it here first.

Forgive me saying so but this is one of the most downbeat posts I’ve seen on here. Hibs are one of the biggest clubs in Scotland and for a long stretch played like it. What on earth does outperformed our own level mean? Should we be ashamed because we played like we had good players and coaches? Surely going on an unbeaten run is better than a more “even spread” of results because teams begin to realise that you are difficult to play against and are to be respected. Why should it be any more difficult for us than other clubs to improve the skill levels of existing and new players?
For what it's worth I very much doubt that SDG and MM are thinking that third place is good enough and I'm quite certain that Tim Bezbatchenko won't be either. I'd imagine they'll know that they are in the early days of creating an ethos of being afraid of no-one and expecting to win every game. Bit like Fergie did at Aberdeen back in the day, first and foremost he had his players believing they could beat anyone and I'm pretty confident that's what our management team are attempting to create.

Surely it is. If a team is significantly fancied to have the third best chance of winning the league it kind of suggests they would be favourites to be third.

In the unlikely event that The Rangers could be challenged for 2nd, there's a number of teams that could possibly put up a challenge, including Hibs, Hearts, Aberdeen... and possibly St Mirren.

If we retain or adequately replace Triantis and Rocky and bring in a third forward who scores goals.. we are massive favourites for third in my mind. In the last 18 games we lost three of them.. and two of those were Celtic. Buying Jamie McGrath weakens Aberdeen and strengthens us. Hearts are Hearts… we will be the strongest non Glasgow team.

Don't think they will finish second as Celtic will be in that position below us.

Rangers and Celtic can go to pot, we need to give them both a good smack when we play them next season.

Seems like they’re getting Russell Martin and the Huns are (even more) revolting (than usual).

Could be some fun times ahead…

Looking at social media the Huns are quite underwhelmed at the prospect of Russell Martins appointment as their manager.

Sevco will be claiming Martin was the most impressive candidate and their first choice from the beginning

The number of changes currently underway at Rangers include New Investors, New Sporting Director, New Head of Recruitment, New Technical Director, New Chairman, New Board Vice Chair, New Manager, and a likely clear out of maybe 5/6 players, the same coming in.

Given this will be new to all of them, and the possibility that it will all take time to bed in, if we kick on, is second place in the league a real possibility?
    Absolutely no chance.

He's a nice guy, lost the plot when he had to adapt the way Southampton played, hope he gets out of the hun quickly with his reputation intact as Thomas is unlikely to end well unless their new owners spend high 10's of millions.

Did we not just spend the season ripping into Dhanda for claiming they could split the old firm? There’s absolutely no chance we get anywhere near second place, we’ll do incredibly well to finish 3rd again.

Edit - Apologies it appears Dhanda said they could go past them both 😂 What a tit.

Russell Martin in charge at a team with a budget advantage like Rangers is an interesting and potentially frightening prospect. With what he was able to do at MK Dons, Swansea and Southampton, I reckon there's half a chance we see a game where one team has 90% posession and 1000 passes next season. They might only win that game 2-0 with five shots on target, mind.

Took him a while to get going at Southampton, and they wanted him out after a couple of months.

I appear to be in the minority but I think Martin will be a good appointment

Unsure why they’re so angry at it

3rd is Hibs to lose IMO. Even a ***** Rangers team who punted their manager and had Barry Ferguson managing them finished 17 points clear of us in 2nd. No chance.

Agreed. Potentially a decent choice as manager.

I had no idea he'd played for them - or Scotland for that matter.

Going to a team who are used to dominating the ball in Scotland will suit him and the way he plays.

I think its a smart appointment as well unfortunately.

I agree with you but without real financial back up he'll go the same way as Clement who is also a good manager. As yet I've heard nothing from the new owners to suggest they have a wad of cash to hand out to Martin.

They don't seem to be too chuffed over on Hun Media
