I think what we need to do is border line impossible for us.

We had Luzern and Villa last time, I thought Luzern were a quality side who we done very well to beat

It will be full of top teams again
We have to beat them. We beat Luzern but (hopefully) we do not get a villa again. If we do we do 🤷*♂️

Sunderland's promotion might help with Triantis.
Not if teams with guaranteed Europe until Xmas are interested.

Today's result will have the recruitment team changing their whole outlook.

Triantis and his agent would have known the score as soon as Celtic put us out the Scottish, though. From then on, we were never guaranteed group stage football. They knew what place came with finishing third.

Triantis hasn't signed for us next season, unless I have missed that?

Will they be changing their whole outlook or will they have been sensible enough to plan for both scenarios? They could never have planned definitively for anything until after today. For the first time in ages I have a bit faith that we’ll move on accordingly.

Nobody said he had? At least, none of the posts I can see on this thread state he has. I was merely suggesting that Triantis and his agene, when considering any possible moves next season, would have been well aware that we were sitting third, were occupying a place in the second qualifying round of the Europa League, and would likely be in that place next season and if he wanted guaranteed european football, then his future may lie elsewhere. To suggest that anyone has said he has signed for next season is totally disingenuous and wild!

One hopes that they have Contingency plans already mapped out. I would like to think they did but I've known many a person in business to not think about "what could" happen. Football and otherwise.

    Apologies, I misread.

However today's result doesn't help our case for resigning triantis. That's a fact.

The ‘what could’ was the automatic qualification though. We’ve never had that. We’ve got the same prize now that we had this morning.

I don't disagree. Hopefully we planned accordingly. Much like when we don't budget for a cup run.

If we want to have a genuine chance of getting through to group stage football then you'd imagine work is going to need to be done more urgently now than if we had the guaranteed groups given our earlier start in Europe.

Still a lot of unknowns in terms of Rocky leaving or staying. Youan and Vente likely to both move on? Miller possibly away too? We are definitely two strikers short with Myko gone and Gayle retiring, a Triantis hole that needs to be filled in the middle of the park, a goalkeeper short. We've got McGrath coming in to presumably play where Campbell and Hoilett have been. when does the window actually open?

Hibs seem to have some very good people on board now and I would have expected them to have plans for every eventuality, if they didnt then they are in the wrong ****ing job.

Granted top priority would have been a better route into the group stages but that was out of our hands and the board know that as did every hibs fan. We are down but not out and the determination from everyone at hibs to even secure europe in the first place should be applauded.

If hibs put the same grit and determination into next season we wont be far away again and the board know that we will need some quality additions to achieve that.

How is it a fact, money and ambition will govern the next move for triantis,if he wants to stay great ,if he wants to move ,so be it.we have no control over the situation,I hope he stays.

It quite clearly has an impact and makes it harder to attract him and others if we can’t guarantee group stage football.

You are kidding yourself on if you don't think the lack of guaranteed European football would influence him coming back.

Really like the look of Ethan Galbraith had a great season at Orient and looking good today in the play off final. One I would be all over.

Think he's definitely an upgrade on levitt as fairly similar technically but has much better physical attributes. More of a goal threat as well.

Definitely better in the middle for me. But I guess that only adds to his benefits that he can play all over.

We were linked with Galbraith a couple of years ago.

Interesting he’s now a right back/RWB - a position we need to improve on imo.

  23. #1762
I see on Twitter hearts have been linked with Josh Mulligan, but then again that was lifted from kickback.

Miller wants to leave according to a mate of his I know. Wanted to leave at end of contract and wasn’t particularly pleased we took the option on him apparently.

Not sure why players sign a contract that gives a club an option of an extra year if they aren't happy with those terms. If indeed he does want to go I hope the deal is done quickly to allow us to get in a proper replacement.

Good player on his day but no great loss if we moves on tbh. Cya!

    Not overly surprised at this

One things for sure - whatever is happening we now need to get folk in quicker than I was expecting with our Euro qualifiers starting towards the end of July

Quite happy for miller to leave if we get a fee

  29. #1768
Miller has been better this season definitely, but he seems like a bit of a legend in his own mind. Hope we do get some decent money for him if he wants away.

  30. #1769
If Miller was to leave I wouldn’t be overly concerned. It feels as if he had that position on the right of the back three for ages but, really, it was a handful of games he played there in the second half of the season.

I’d rather just keep as much of the squad together as we can though.

He’s far better in that position than O’Hora
