I totally forgot that.... and having checked Dad played for Hibs when Angus would have been between 2 1/2 & 5 1/2.... maybe thats why Angus is / is thought a Hibby...

Anyway sounds like its worth a conversation - if he wants to be in future Scotland squads he will want to be playing

Gunn and Smith would be a strong Goalkeeper and back up which we will need next season being in Europe.

I guess I would have said the same about Gayle last year but somehow a deal that suited both was made - I realise the stage of career for both is different. As I mentioned I don't think Europe (if we get group stages guaranteed) can be underestimated in the experience / CV and shop window it is

I think the Dwight Gayle scenario was completely different in that he was 34 and Over the summer, Gayle completed a full pre-season with the Professional Football Association, which included training and matches led by the PFA’s coaching team

Hopefully not. He's done decent against us this season for some reason but the other times I've watched him against the other teams he's been dreadful.

Not a fan of the Steven Fletcher suggestions. He was a great player and a top pro, but he’ would be 39 by the end of the season, and is 3 years older than Dwight Gayle who’s hanging up his boots (4 years older than Gayle when he signed for us)

I think Gayle has proven that an aging top player can be a great addition, but I think around 33-34 rather than 38 needs to be the age bracket.

I’ve just remembered that last summer we were told we would need to wait until this summer to really see an overhaul of the squad and new signings in. Well an exciting summer ahead with European football to look forward to. I imagine most at Hibs didn’t expect we’d be starting from as good a point as we are now!
