Think he would rather get called up by the Australian and would realistically get more caps for them than Scotland

Agree with some of your points but I don't see any defenders on that list and can't think of many either. Even the likes of Porteous is now 26 and I'm not sure he's progressing.
    Unfortunately probably correct.

You have Kerr Smith at Villa, but he's a long way away. Charlie McArthur is closer, but even he's as close as France

Said it before but Stevie Clarke needs to get this lad capped before the aussies come sniffing. He absolutely strolled it today and offers so much more than Hanley and Souttar.

Bowie won't be far off either if he continues like he did today. Deadly in front of the goal. Something scotland really lacks

Surprised he’s not getting more credit. Been sensational since coming into that LCB slot and brings good composure to the back line. He’s been a brilliant signing and seems a good lad too.

He is sensational and easily my favourite player.

Best defender in Scotland and it’s not even close!

If we don’t Australia will. Probably sees himself as more Australian anyway given he grew up there.

Don’t think we will unfortunately. Clarke is a diddy.

Sublime yet again today. Must be in the lead for our player of the year.

Seen this earlier, puts to bed him wanting to play for Scotland

I represented Australia at under-17 and since then, I've been desperate to get back in – I’ve got agent Boyle on the case!”

Hibs’ Jack Iredale hopes he can give Tony Popovic food for thought after missing out on a Socceroos call last time out

Does anyone think he’d turn down Scotland if he was selected before the Aussies did?

Sounds like it. He'll know he's not far away from an Australian cap

Assume he has family there and may want to live there after he stops playing

If Scotland call him up I'd be surprised if he turned it down.

Yes Australia have a better chance of making the world cup due to their easier qualification route but with Scotland you are involved in some massive games during qualification.

His comments during the Hibees Buzz were along the lines of 'I've always felt Australian, I'm confident in my game and I'll keep doing what I'm doing'. He also referred to the fact the Australian management team are obviously watching our games given there are 3 others in the squad.

There was no reference to, 'but I'd be open to a conversation with Steve Clarke' or anything to suggest he was wanting a Scotland call up. Which tbh, is quite admirable.
