It's wrong to play 3 times away at one venue in a season.

The fomat is flawed and we are the ones who have lost out....does this mean that St Mirren will have had 20 home games. Why should they get 20 home games when we have finished 3rd. Talk about not rewarding achievement.

It's also suspect us playing Aberdeen first. Is this how the compter did it, or are the SPFL looking to squeeze the league points totals asap.

I don't fear playing Aberdeen away. I just think it stinks a bit.
If we win it will be best thing ever, pretty much knocking them out the race.

    St Mirren marooned in sixth
I get what you’re saying, but there’s no maroon to be found in the top six.

The alternative to playing Saints away 3 times is us playing more home games than away games. We have played 17 at home and 16 away up to now. Saints I suspect have played 17 away already. We’ve not lost out but if we played them at ER we would have had an advantage over everyone else who had an equal split.

Very true mate. They definitely “marooned” Hearts in the bottom six.

    16

17 at home, same as us.

They are "seeded" above us, as they finished higher last season.

    Confirmed by DR.

    26th April: Aberdeen (A)
    3rd May: United (H)
    10th May: Celtic (A)
    14th May: St Mirren (A)
    17th May: Rangers (H)
Aberdeen game massive for both clubs.

We should fear nobody, though there will be shocks and upsets

Looking at a realistic but by no means optimistic turn of events, the pressure on all teams here might mean a relatively small amount of points claim third.

    Dundee United lose against Celtic
Hibs take two points from the first two games and lose at Parkhead.

St Mirren aren't there to simply lose five games, so you'd imagine they will pick up some amount of points against Hibs, Aberdeen or Dundee United. As long as we're not the only club to lose three points to them, a draw can be acceptable.

The big benefit here would be a draw in the Dundee United-Aberdeen final round - I'd imagine if Hibs continue to be hard to beat (not even necessarily winning) then three points against Rangers would likely be enough.

Or we just rattle everyone in sight. Winning in Aberdeen could well be enough in itself.

Suppose that's the best way to look at it. I actually think if we can avoid defeat at Aberdeen and beat Utd that could possibly be enough but winning obviously seals it almost.

When Are The Post Split Fixtures Announced?

I know that’s highly unlikely , but can you imagine IF rangers loose the first 4 games , we win 3 and draw with Celtic …………..

Highly unlikely , but mathematically possible !

So we end up with 18 home games and 20 away games?

No, 19/19 but 3 trips to St Mirren.

Well, win the first two games and we’re third.
    Indeed

I would go so far as to say win at Pittodrie and it's done.

Aberdeen would be effectively 7 points off us (factoring in GD) you suspect Utd would be the same (after losing to Celtic)

They play each other, Aberdeen have both the OF to play and Utd still have Rangers.

We could draw against both Utd and Aberdeen, in fact, and retain all the advantages, thanks to GD

But yeah a win at Pittodrie seals it for me

Quite happy with that. Gives us a real chance to get the job done early. Avoided Celtic when they’re looking to win the league or get the trophy. St Mirren and Rangers hopefully in holiday mode by the time we face them.

As I've said above I feel avoiding defeat to Aberdeen will be the key in all fixtures coming up.

How they get on at the weekend in the Semi will have a massive impact on the result against us I feel as well possibly.

Not one Hibs game being shown on SKY. Huge battle for third and they have picked none of the games. Also not bothered with a bottom 6 game which is crazy considering how many teams are still involved.

As we are ahead, Aberdeen's take on it will have been get to Hibs at home first then play the lowest ranked team next (St Mirren).

This is what they have been given.

Both have had 16 home games so far, so that seems fair to me.
