I see that has our longest unbeaten run as 24 games back in 1942. That was wartime obviously so not sure what league or cup games it includes
The run in 1942 was 24 in all competitions (16 in the league), but there are caveats:

    - Because it was wartime it wasn't a full national league, we played in the 'southern league'. Most of the bigger teams were in that league, but no Aberdeen, Dundee clubs etc.

    - In the middle of that run we drew the Summer Cup final with Rangers, which they then won on a coin toss. No idea how you count that for record purposes.

    - If you look at league games only then the run actually starts earlier, because the last defeat before that 24 games started was a cup game. Looking at league games only, we went 19 unbeaten. But, as above, it wasn't a full national top flight.

Yes. Interesting from a stats points of view but I wouldn't count that as a comparable achievement to the 1948 team or the current one.

Incredible achievement made even more incredible due to where we were earlier on this season. That its been achieved when the Tornadoes and other great Hibs teams didn't is partly due to a level of work ethic and commitment from every player I've rarely seen in Hibs teams.
The biggest highlight for me yesterday, in a game full of highlights for us, was seeing both Dwight Gayle (for all he’s achieved in his career) and Nicky Cadden scrambling like fighter jets to close down their centre back on the halfway line in the 93rd minute of a game we were winning 4v0. Outstanding.

Avoiding defeat against Stranraer Ayr and Clydebank not really comparable to the current run. But yeah to be strictly accurate its longest unbeaten top flight run.
Except it wasn't top fight football

Think Bollah meant the current run, to be strictly accurate, isn't the longest unbeaten run but the longest unbeaten top flight run.

Ate the fixtures not generated via some computer ?

Seems to be all the rangers v Celtic dates to avoid are like a human is dictating
The outcome of the competition and it’s not totally random. I understand the police issue etc but the whole thing seems a bit fixed.
It can be both, think of prompt engineering (the way you use Gen AI such as chatgpt).

Software Engineer writes a code to randomly select the fixtures however the output must avoid a number of scenarios i.e. No old firm as first game of the season.

Chatgpt, etc are new because they're so readily available, but what they do isn't anything hugely knew. They just have access to more data due to being open source, and are quicker due to more resources. I actually wouldn't be surprised if they used Chatgpt or similar for the fixtures.

The first half of game one was absolutely stinking. Dwight Gayle saved the team a hounding, as that was a 45 that seemed to pretty much confirm we were well capable of going down.

And they went through really rough spells in game two, three, five and six. Amazing how many times this run could have fallen by the wayside early on - anyone think at 2-0 down going on five v Rangers that we'd get a point and go another 11 unbeaten?

Nice to look back on all of that with a wry smile and safe in the knowledge they've developed some real guts since the season's low points. Maybe it's because of those low points, who knows.

I like the fact as well that we have won eight out of the seventeen games by a two or more goal margin .

I remember Aberdeen at the start of the season on their run where they won something like seven out of eleven of their games by a single goal and it felt that they were to a degree crawling over the finishing line in a lot of games …

I don’t think we have been like that on our run .
