I've bought a season ticket for next year but I might have to leave early on occasions depending on when my train back to York departs.

Will you forgive me or would you prefer I stayed home?

I've made the same joke on here every year since the year dot, when this nonsense raises its head, that the only reason I go to games is so I can leave early.

Seriously, I get it that it's irritating when folk want to pass in front of you as they leave, whether that's to go home or to go to the bog at the cinema, but it's such a minor inconvenience.

I suppose it's good that this is all anyone has to complain about these days.
I used to make the joke that early leavers were a disgrace. If I was actually the game I'd have stayed to the end!

As others have said. Folk turned up. Paid their money. Let them be.

Ok mate, I’ll stay until the end next time, get home an hour later, spend less time with the mrs and kids so that I can win the biggest Hibeee 2025 award and when they ask, I’ll tell them Keith says so.
Don’t go at all and spend even
    More time with them

Is this really how you wanted the thread to go?

I thought more might have been made about the record run being equalled.

History was made today, or at least replicated, and this Hibs team and David Gray deserved a few minutes of everyone’s time to acknowledge the feat.

The customary thread for folk to moan that strangers are exercising free will and not acting exactly as they are. These threads used to be about strangers not going to games and spending their time and money differently. Shows were in a good place when it’s just a 5 or 10 minute window folk are complaining about strangers acting differently to them.
Agree with this. It must've been a good day if this is all people have got to worry about. I'm leaving the thread here as it seems a bit sad if people want to argue about this when we've just won 4-0 and are on the best run of most of our lifetimes.

I left at 93mins with my son, as he’s not comfortable with crowds all piling down the stairs at same time. Hope that’s ok with everyone. And tbh, If I wanted to leave earlier, I would. Would be my choice surely ?

We shouldn’t ever be singing SOL after a home league win v Dundee ffs
I get your point but should we ever clinch the league title with a home league win vs Dundee, I think we should be giving it a whirl.

Correct, and I usually take full advantage of that 5 mins ... but not today. This team has just done what no other Hibs team had done in 80 years. No way was I leaving early, and I was just as shocked and disappointed to see so many leaving early.

We're 4-0 up, Bowie on a hat-trick, it's a Sunday, the sun was shining and a 2.30 KO. There are no excuses for early leaver today. Team deserved better.

Also, sad to see hundreds of empty seats around the ground.

Folk or their families may have jobs to go to. They may have family commitments arranged before the match was moved for tv. And with those, maybe they wanted to catch as much of the match that they could. Perhaps they’d taken ill. Maybe they do wish to reduce their time travelling to get home.

Whatever their reasons are, it’s really no one else’s business.

Only gripe on a fine day - 17 games unbeaten, 4-0 win, the players deserve better than a half empty stadium for the last 5 mins. East stand in particular emptying our long before the end, each to their own, but baffling how so many can have something so important to get to on a Sunday afternoon that it's worth missing the opportunity to bask in the finest run any of us have ever seen.
Uh oh. Here comes the sanctimony.

If all we’ve got to worry about going into the split is what time people leave I think we’re in a pretty good place for once.

Great afternoon, Hibs on form (still) and looking forward to work on Monday and my Jambo colleagues to ask how their weekend went.

Gotta have something to moan about it seams.
Spare a thought for the many moany faced barstewards in the Hibs support - this is a barren, Spartan, drought-ridden famine time for them of a type they’ve never had to deal with in their Hibs supporting lives

What about fans who don’t turn up as soon as the turnstiles open and watch the warm ups? Less fans than those who turn up 5 mins before kick off ??

If you’re not there from the start of the warm up until the last player has left the pitch, you’re not a Hibs fan. Welcome to Hibs.net.

Better to leave early than not go because you're scared of someone criticising you for leaving with 5 minutes to go.

    Or not?
Leaving early takes away the fear of leaving on time?

If your not waiting for player autographs in the players car park right after the game like a load of fans today you aren’t a proper Hibs fan.

Wow, why the **** does anyone care about folk leaving early? We won 4-0 and are three points ahead in third. Focus on that and let other fans leave when they want. Crazy.

I always move down to the front, basically for a quick getaway. I don't care what anyone thinks or says, I can get home about 45 mins earlier if I stay.

If it annoys you, deal with it

Great achievement, but not on a par with pumping the Hertz for a Sunshine On Leith, and ye win nae trophies for unbeaten runs

    Hi Keith,

I didn't even go as I had to do things for my Mother, so only caught the 2nd half on a stream.
You may like Sunday games, but I'm older now and have to get up at 5am on the Monday for work.
Generally have a ton of things to do on Sunday's to prepare for the week ahead.
Not been to Easter Road on a Sunday for over 10 years.

Honestly Keith it knocks the crap out of me having a late Sunday.

Anyway unless I pay for one of the car parking spaces by the flats, it's a 3 bus journey home (2 1/2 to 3+ hours).

I can't remember the last time I went to a midweek game as I'm either working away or just too tired to rush like hell to get to the game and unless I leave 15mins early it's not possible to get home at all unless I drive.

Obviously I'm not a real fan as I don't currently have a season ticket and aside from a 4 year period when I had a 8-4:30 job, the only times I could go regularly was when I was at college and pre starting work. First games at Easter road were in 1976 and I honestly can't remember anything about that season. I do remember getting the first Bukta strip and wearing it until it fell apart.

Generally the only times I stay to the end is when we are at away games and get locked in.

I'm hoping to get to a lot more games when/if I ever manage to retire (health permitting), but who knows.

As it is Keith, I'll go to the games I want to and leave whenever I feel like it.

    ...

People are quite entitled to leave when they like but from a personal point of view there was no way I was leaving before the end of one of the best and most entertaining performances for many a season and I’m sure David Gray and the players appreciated the ovation from the fans at the end.

No worries. It's my prerogative to be disappointed to see so many leaving early on such as occasion And to see so many empty seats in the East Stand - irrespective of the reasons.

    Great win. Great team
