Was speaking to a guy last night who travels regularly to Nashville for his work and he said that the changes at immigration are massive. They took his phone and downloaded all his emails and his social media accounts. Very different atmosphere.

Friend who lives in Montreal says about one in 3 canadians used to travel to and spend money in the states, especially in winter time in Canada.

They are seriously boycotting there now and reckons it will last and cost the States even more in winter. The Caribbean, specifically Mexico looks like being the winner.

It’s def real, the guy seemed genuine. Doubts there is anything sensitive on his phone anyway but had to tell his employers because they took the emails.
No idea why they want all that data but I doubt it’s for good.

The last thing he wants are 0% tariffs and a bigger deficit, he wants no trade deficit. In his head selling goods for currency to a nation is him getting robbed, he's been going on about trade deficits since the 80s.

The only people the tariffs will hurt are the American public and nations that do retaliatory tariffs are just hurting their own public. That goes for every nation bar China, who are winning internationally from any trade wars. They should try and get lots of 0% deals in place in the meantime

I have a vested interest because I have a house in France and for the last few days I’ve been astonished at how far the pound has fallen against the euro.

Initially the pound jumped when the tariffs were announced especially as Europe is 20% and UK 10%.

Maybe this is the reason why.

Britain is in a very perilous state, although I think the rumours wil probably have came from Musk saying there should be synergy between Europe and USA.

Whether musk and trump are still besties is another subject

The Donald needs to hold firm and get those extra 50% tariffs placed on China. And we need the EU to get there response out there now for him to go higher again. Americans need to feel real pain.
