not a great performance from Glasgow but they did well getting back in it after trailing for much of it and finally going ahead near the end FT Glasgow 28 Munster 25

Aye ground that one out. How good a coach is Franco Smith though? Would love to see him get a crack at the Scotland job

Edinburgh can be so poor at times, camped in near the try line and the longer they faffed about i just knew they would eventually muck up...which they did, Benetton work it up the other end to get a try, still ahead 18-16 though after 65 mins

dearie me Benetton get what's probably the winning try 21-18

    FT

Agree. Edinburgh game management is woeful. Two hookers who can’t throw a ball at a lineout

down to 9th and teams below them still to play, they're lucky Zebre just couldn't hold out against Sharks earlier, they were so unlucky at 3rd top Sharks, Zebre 2nd bottom but would've been above Edinburgh

Ospreys hold on to beat Connacht 43-40 to go 7th, Edinburgh down to 11th level on points with Connacht

only 8 points in it between 2nd bottom Zebre and 5th placed Cardiff(where the heck have they came from)

Saw the highlights. Pleasantly surprised by how entertaining it looked. Scotland look to have come a long way in recent years. Decent crowd too.

I checked in on the England game this afternoon and first half they looked impressive.

Anyone follow the women's game? I watch a fair bit of women's football but haven't really given the rugby much attention until now.

Frustrating at times win for Edinburgh last night against Dragons.

A lot of mistakes across the park, and a really suffocating second half in the end.

Play like that in the European game vs the Lions next week, and we'll get hammered.

Duhan van der Merwe went off after about 15 minutes with an ankle injury into the bargain.
It's hard to stitch my own back with these shaky hands
But even harder to accept the scars you left were planned

    good win Glasgow v Lions

    HT 42-0
    FT 42-0

think that's the first half of a Rugby game i've ever watched that ended pointless George Horne becomes Warriors all time top Try scorer overtaking van der Merwe, points haul included a nice try for Adam Hastings

hammering for the women as expected unfortunately France 38 Scotland 15

    Wales 12 England 67

Hopefully beat Italy in a fortnight as the following weekend will no doubt see a heavy points loss away to England

Edinburgh back to 8th after Benetton beating Cardiff 20-19, it's so close between 5th & 13th

Fantastic performance in very trying weather conditions. 👏. And achieved without a handful of top players who are currently injured.

Roll on next Saturdays big European Champions Cup tie against Leicester.

    👍

Edinburgh in talks to sign hooker Dylan Richardson. Currently got Cherry, Ashman, Harrison. I understand Cherry will be away but even so, you’d think Glasgow would be the better option if he is to come to Scotland no?

Edinburgh need a bit of experience there with Cherry moving on. Harrison looked ok there on Friday evening but is largely untested, and Ashman is really hot or cold: certainly his lineouts are awful!

Looking forward to the Leinster v Glasgow game tonight.

Such a shame about the Warriors injury troubles as I feel they could give them a real game at full strength but expect Leinster to win tonight.

i knew Leinster would win easily enough and stuck a few ££ on them at -20.5 but this is an absolute mauling for Glasgow

just under the hour and it's 47- Duck Egg

i suspect Edinburgh won't do much better tomorrow against Bulls

    FT Leinster 52 Glasgow O

    Aye that's a pumping.

Edinburgh v Bulls had been close in the few games they've played but I also expect all Scottish (club) interest in Europe will be over by the time Hearts kick off v the Steelmen.

  23. #4012
Townsend out, Franco Smith in? Hmmmmmm.
Ah, but Glasgow were up against a superior side on the top of their game. And they had some key players injured. (Sounds familiar.)
If he wants an international job maybe let him go to Wales after being Grannied like that.

Great game and brilliant result from Edinburgh. For once they took their chances and stuck in when they needed too. I often think they are playing within themselves but not today they put it all on the line

I keep going back and forth over Townsend. On one hand, there is plenty of evidence that he can’t get us over some of the mental blocks (ie Ireland) and we’re still capable of the occasional brain fart (Italy last 6 nations), but on the other hand, maybe this is just where Scotland are in the pecking order of international rugby, good enough to give everyone a game but not consistent enough to do anything really of note.

I hadn't realised Sexton was now a Lions coach.

Any thoughts on whether Russell might lose out as a result?

Think that was only announced on Wednesday? Don't think he'll lose per say, as he's nailed on to be on the plane and *should* be test starter, but the Sexton element may hinder the starter role...

Farrell can't not be aware of Soor Plum Face's previous comments on Russell so if he did not have an advance quiet reassuring word with Russell that this coaching appointment would have no impact on his selection chances, then his man-management skills are considerably lacking, unbecoming of a Lions coach, and it doesn't augur well for squad unity, nor for an unbiased selection process. Farrell also should have predicted this media story line and it should have been cut off at the pass with some sort of statement from him or Soor Plum Face direct. Or if not predicted by them themselves, then by their Media advisers/consultants of which there will no doubt be several.

No sign of Edinburgh shifting their semi v Bath to the main pitch at M'field despite tickets for The Hive selling out within a day. Surely they'd get 20,000 plus if they did so, at least doubling, maybe closer to tripling the crowd at The Hive. But maybe the big pitch would be playing into the hands of Russell/Bath
so they are prepared to forego the potential increased gate revenue? Thoughts?
PS shame it clashes with our crucial match v The Arabs.
