There is a huge police presence in the city, unmarked and marked cars everywhere pulling people over, looks like they are trying to disrupt things by flooding the streets of uniforms and stop these folk moving about, the police down Muirhouse Pilton is of the scale right now.

This isn’t about drugs or a stash going missing, I think it’s pretty obvious now.

It is just for show though or are they actually doing something about it? Haven’t heard much from Police Scotland on actual arrests?

There was a low flying helicopter hovering around over Wallyford last night around 9pm. Seems this is all over the Lothians now. Was out on the school run earlier and there were a couple of police cars driving about the local area which is unusual as I can't remember the last time I seen polis during the day around here.

I suppose it depends on the size of the stash

I must have led a sheltered life, didn't know this existed in Edinburgh. Just reading more about it and seems it's drugs related and a new gang trying to muscle in.

I was over at Fort Kinnaird last night around midnight.
Multiple Police cars were chasing a small black car around the retail park.
Thought I heard the helicopter but couldn't see it in the skies.

I was driving down Old Dalkeith Road earlier and noticed police tape cordoning off the driveway of a premises with police officers stationed outside. I’ve not seen any incident there reported anywhere but a photograph of said premises has been used by the BBC halfway down their article. A quick google suggests the property is owned by a prominent operator of private hires in the Capital. https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/articles/c4g7wp45nz6o

Interesting that Edinburgh Live are doing as much as they can to identify the person in question, without actually naming him.

If the guy is 31, when was this football mob activity meant to have taken place?

That’s very hard to believe, the press/media have been shocking during this, they basically put a hit list of folk in Edinburgh in the papers, at one point I thought they were doing the work of Glasgow gangsters by naming them, but no one is going to Dubai to sort anyone out that’s for sure, the folk in Dubai will be under pressure from the cartels to see who pays for the shipment at the fruit market, this is the blame game not for counterfeit money being used.

Thought that was strange. The deal with Dubai is they turn a blind eye to the money laundering and won’t extradite you there so long as you don’t bring the violence there as well?

The Police can’t even catch teens who are out of control, never mind actual organised crime groups.

Happy to spend £2m+ on operation branchform though while gangsters are running round armed to the teeth. Whoever is running Police Scotland is a joke. Or worse.

    Police raid, 3 arrested.

Maybe the beginning of a crackdown.

There was a fire raising in Craiglockhart which has probably motivated somebody at Police HQ to get off their arse and do something. Fine when it's just the plebs impacted but if it moves into more gentrified areas..........

I thought quite a few had already been arrested. Watching the Daniel Kinahan program on iplayer I was surprised how nuts it was, were small scale compared to Ireland
