Historically I absolutely love the USA. I’ve always enjoyed visiting and have had family in various parts of the country all my life.

The idea of passing up a chance to visit is pretty much anathema but I don’t think I can go back until it changes.

Apart from anything else - I’ve had some robust conversations re Trump on WhatsApp. A random check including confiscation of phone could probably land me in hot water. Not a risk worth taking in the current climate, and that’s a white man saying that.

I wonder how many of their industries are currently being savaged by the actions of this regime? Tourism? Defence? Motor manufacture?

It all fits the picture that is unfolding in front of us, next we'll see restrictions in freedom of the press then they'll go after American citizens deemed undesirable.
