League is Falkirks to lose now unfortunately. Is it next season they have to change to grass? Or do promoted teams get given a bit of leeway, anyone know?

    article from November 2024

Seven lower league SPFL clubs spearheaded by Falkirk are challenging a ban on artificial surfaces in the William Hill Premiership.

Top-flight sides voted at the end of the season to implement a ban in the Premiership from the 2026-27 campaign after the governing body put forward a resolution to “phase out” artificial pitches.

Representatives from Falkirk, Livingston, Raith Rovers, Hamilton, Airdrieonians, Cove Rangers and Queen of the South have now held talks with Scottish FA president Mike Mulraney and are prepared to ask an independent arbitration tribunal to review the ban under Article 99 of the Scottish FA’s articles of association.

Fantastic. A confidence boosting win for Aberdeen going into the last nine games of the season.

Just seen the Kevin Nisbit goal, how clever was that, getting back to his best.

Looking forward to having Falkirk back up next season. What an incredible job McGlynn has done there.

Make wins on artificial pitches only count as two points to the home team. That'll put an end to this nonsense.

what I find bizarre is that all artificial pitches are just classed as equal. A top of the range artificial one is better that the terrible ones at StJ and County.

But the Killie and Livi ones aren’t. There needs to be an official grading at the start of the season for each artificial pitch to see if it passes a standard.

I didn’t say it was an impressive win. I said it was confidence boosting. Which it will be.

And Nisbet is being touted for a call up because he scored a great goal against Queen's Park.

Without a doubt. Most would agree he hasn’t been at his best since going to Aberdeen, but he’s still got 14 goal involvements (10 goals 4 assists) in 28 games.

Shankenstein has 13 in 34 games with 9 of those being assists.

It is fair comment. They seemed to get a boost after beating Dunfermline in the last round and went on a wee run.

Surprised the referee or linesman didn’t see that incident in the Portsmouth v Leeds game … should have been a penalty to Leeds.

Four minutes in and it should be 2-0 Bournemouth. Spurs cannot defend.

1-0 Man U. Fantastic free kick by Fernandez though Raya's positioning gave him a large target to aim at.
