He was getting and continues to get more than his fair share of coverage from the BBC. How does his involvement with a political party that only became relevant up to the Brexit vote merit him having 1.5 appearances per year on Question Time for example? He has the 4th highest appearance rate on Question Time and has been on the panel 37 times since 2000.

Nigel Farage hasn't exactly become just a peripheral political non-entity post-Brexit though has he? Judging by current polling he's a good bet to hold the balance of power at the next election and I'd go so far as to say that if the election was tomorrow Reform would be causing Starmer (and the Tories) a sleepless night. Irrespective of what we might think of his political views, he's a much sharper cookie than a lot of people once believed.

You’re wrong there, or at least you’re confusing the issues you feel strongly about wity the ones that the majority of other voters do. Although (regrettably in my view) attitudes against trans people have hardened in recent years, gender issues are nowhere near the key issues that voters report to be most concerned about, not even in the top ten in any reputable polling. Despite the fact it generates clicks, its ‘sex’, so it sells, and so gets way more news coverage than it deserves, people just couldnt give a monkeys about someones gender identity or whether or not concessions are made for them. Check the polling. ONS or yougov should do.

The economy is what has motivated people to vote the way they do and that remains the case today. The reason immigration remains an issue of concern for US and UK voters is PRECISELY because its seen as being about the economy; somehow the billionaire class has persuaded the working class that years of them robbing state assets in the form of tax cuts for themselves ISNT the reason living standards are falling through the floor for 90% of us, itsall thefault of brown people in rubber dinghies fleeing persecution and conflict Health, education, war and crime follow, but gender, or ‘family issues’? (Widely used as a euphemism for not liking gays/trans/legal abortion-something that COST Trump plenty of support, incidentally)Nowhere to be seen in the top areas of concern.

It's also hard to miss the coverage of the court case in Dundee as it's the main story on the Scottish news most days. Easy to say nobody gives a monkeys about someone's gender identity if you're a man, but the potential impact on women's rights had the Scottish government's legislation not been blocked was of deep concern to many.

It's also probably quite easy as Scots to take the moral high ground on immigration when the 'brown people in rubber dinghies' are landing on the south coast of England. If they were floating up the Clyde or the Forth I suspect we'd see a shift in perspective from more than a few voters.

It's also hard to miss the coverage of the court case in Dundee as it's the main story on the Scottish news most days. Yes, I understand his point. All I'm saying is that immigration isn't some sort of convenient excuse or irrelevance. It's a significant and newsworthy issue, as is gender 'nonsense'. Thankfully the Cass review looks to have drawn some kind of line in the sand when it comes to the damage being done to young people. Unfortunately, the fight to maintain women's rights looks set to continue if some of the (almost) laughable claims being made at the Dundee tribunal are taken seriously.

I know this is my own fault for buying a house near a railway line but a peeve of mine is Network Rail doing work on the line during the night. The line that heads to Fife, Dundee, etc. is behind the houses across the road from us. We got a letter from Network Rail at the end of last year informing us they'd be imminently starting works to electrify the line and this would be done six nights a week overnight and it would last a year.

Last night we got woken at 3am with the noise of piling (this must be it starting). Went on for a couple of hours. Similar happened last Autumn when they were testing the suitability of the ground for the works but that was restricted to Saturday nights into Sunday. The current work being on "school nights" is a bit crap. I hope its a case that they are moving along the line as time goes on so we might not have to suffer for a whole year but the test work that was done was heard miles away so I'm not confident.

I appreciate it can't be done whilst the line is operational but six nights a week is taking the piss.

The whole fitness influencer culture is so ****ed up. It’s literally thousands of people talking ***** with very few actually knowledgeable people.

Loads of these influencers are claiming to be natural and it's evidently bollocks to anyone with eyes (and I know guys on gear still have to put the work in).They are projecting an image that is totally unachievable for young lads but they start to believe it's realistic because it's force fed to them. 'Just eat more', 'just up your protein', 'go into more of a deficit' etc etc.

That in turn creates a toxic culture in which the same young guys have unrealistic expectations of what others should look like and disparage them with pretty hurtful comments on social media because a perfectly normal body is painted as something disgusting. Tbh I notice it happening to men almost as much as women. It's anything but an empowering community.

Gender identity is not going to determine the fate of billions on the planet while global tax policy might.

The undermining of women's rights is a serious issue nevertheless. As is the fate of confused or vulnerable kids prescribed puberty blockers or persuaded to undergo irreversible surgery. It was an issue managed to slip under the radar of wider public awareness for too long.
