I read that Sam Kerr was found not guilty of using whiteness as a racial slur.
An interesting one.

When she was addressing the officer I wondered why it was necessary to refer to him as being white, and still do wonder what the point of it was.

I wasn't too up to date on it but a look at the BBC reporting looks to me like her lawyers played a blinder, she's clearly said something racist in the heat of the moment when possibly pished, but it's been spun as her having a go about white privilege and fearing for her life and the jury bought it

I wonder the outcome of an identical scenario but with the races flipped.

And we wonder why most decent minded people in the UK has had enough of this two tier bull 💩
If any one of us had done that with the races flipped we’d be facing some serious charges and rightly so.
You’ve got to ask how she’s managed to get away with it

Seemingly the officer said nothing at the time and no complaint was made until later, still a strange thing to say and as has been said, I wonder what would happen if the word black was used.

She has said something out of order in the heat of the moment, it happens, she should have been punished for it.
Her lawyer has played a blinder with the only strategy really open to them. Still surprised a jury went for it mind you.PM Awards General Poster of The Year 2015, 2016, 2017. Probably robbed in other years

There should never have been a charge, imho this has been tacked on at a later stage for whatever reason, and trust me the comments were absolutely minor compared with what your average Saturday night drunk yells. Deal with the criminal damage to the taxi then move on.
This result sets a terrible precedent in which the far right will scream two tier justice.Last edited by Berwickhibby; 12-02-2025 at 09:26 AM.

Not sure it sets a great precedent. Certainly low hanging fruit for white victimhood.

I agree with the ex police officer posting here that much worse things said to Police are routinely ignored as it's sadly part of the job and it probably never should have got this far but Kerr and her partner hardly seem like innocent angels in all of this.
Throwing in the white privilege thing just adds fuel to it. But hey, it helped get her in the clear so she won't mind.

Hopefully the Crown Prosecution Service appeal this verdict, the fall out could be horrendous. She has not denied making the remarks, plus it is recorded on the officers bodycam.
After eventually agreeing to pay the taxi driver the cost of the damage to his cab, the matter should have been dealt as a civil matter/debt with no criminal charges being brought imho
