Cannot believe the amount of stick Darren Ferguson is taking for not bringing on Ashley Young's son in the Everton game today.

They were 1-0 down with minutes to go, it's not soccer aid ffs. Fair enough if it's 3-0 or whatever but they had a chance of snatching a goal and taking it to penalties and he chose to bring on an attacking player instead.

    Absolutely nuts.

Let’s keep in mind the laddie is 17 and hasn’t been in the last 14 match day squads. It’s not even like he’s a regular sub, he’s made 1 appearance. Ferguson done him a favour having him in the squad incase the opportunity arose for them to make history. It didn’t. If anything they should be thankful he was willing to do that, he could have just killed the idea completely by not including him at all as he’s done the last 14 matches.

He shouldn't need to answer to anybody on this, it's ridiculous.

Even if it was 3-0, it's professional football not WWE, Ferguson is there to manage the football club, not make a happy news story.

The laddie got a run out in October for them in the EFL trophy at the start of the season, since then he's not made an appearance and only been on the bench for 3 games before last night.

Hopefully Ashley Young has enough sense to talk to his son and make sure he understands his manager hasn't done him wrong here, cos letting this affect his relationship with the manager or the club will only be detrimental to his career at this point.

The folk crying about Ferguson not putting on the guys son kind of just sums up people up nowadays. Nobody should be getting on the park unless they're good enough. It's not Soccer Aid. Ferguson shouldn't be having to justify it.

I like Villas all black shirts with no sponsors or names on back. Wearing them to mark 150th Anniversary.

It's got to the stage now where they dont care about being fair, and are not bothered who see's it.
Penalty for me, every day of the week. The defender clearly stamps on Murray’s foot ( maybe unintentional but that’s no defence). What really surprised me at the time was someone here said it was never a penalty and that Murray was at it.

That's just the hand life dealt them though. Narrow choices, all defined by defending a wall in a part of the country most of them have never seen and worshipping a camp bouffant haired guy from another century who wore make up.

I live around quite a few Posh fans, they are currently unhappy with the manager because of league results. This social media farce has topped it up. None of the usual reasons for making a substitution of this type seemed to exist so I'm in the apparent minority that agreed with Ferguson.

Didn't take him long to realise Huns are just angry at the world. Probably secretly angry at their dad's for making them Huns. They don't know why they're forced to like Roy Orbison or the Monarchy. They're angry, confused and inwardly crying out for help. They're scared and confused at having to call each other "Bears". They don't know what a Fenian is but feel they have to say it anyway. They don't know why they all have to wear full kits on holiday in Benidorm. It doesn't make any sense to them. Their anger is a form of self loathing. Yes, they are normally unhappy.

How did they give a corner before the goal there ? Absolute shocker of a decision.

I think it's shocking that Ferguson didn't sign the entire Young family on a short term deal just so they could all have a special moment together on the pitch in a FA cup tie. Really poor from him.

Does anyone know if Hibs have plans to wear the original jersey as the away kit on our 150th anniversary?

Some of the replays didn’t even show the feet, focussing on the coming together with upper body - which absolutely wasn’t enough to give a penalty.

On the replays that showed the feet, I thought it looked obvious that there was a stamp on the foot. It wasn’t deliberate but it was clumsy and a foul, therefore a penalty.
