I've just gone ahead with solar panels and battery storage. Expect to have them fitted in February or March.
Did it a while back. Enough sunshine today to charge my storage up to 67%, that's easily a day's electricity for me in January and most days in the summer I'm getting paid for producing it. Best thing I've done in the last few years.

Will be interested to see how that goes. Thinking of doing the same. Have a west/east facing roof so not sure if suitable. Which company are you using?

Good decision, what sort of system have you gone for?

I've got something similar, the installers made a few different cock ups which they did resolve to an extent but the overall system doesn't work to full capacity. They messed up with the inverter, so one of the strings wasn't giving enough voltage to let the inverter know it was there.

They gave us another inverter FOC to resolve it but it has capped the performance at 3.5kw despite having 4.9kw of panels.

It's something I want to resolve in the near future as we are missing out on production and money.

My roof is the same, getting 19 panels, 7 on west side and 12 on east.

Local company, R. W. Bell green energy.

I hope so, the projection is payback in less than 10 years ( at today's prices for electricity) and generating more than we use for about 4 months in summer. Can't wait!

Just for info we’re on one of Bulbs electricity tariffs which is designed for solar panel users.

They have peak generation periods so you get paid a premium for selling back to the grid at peak times (4-7pm) and cheaper import rates overnight so you can force-charge the batteries overnight when it’s cheaper, especially good in the winter when generation is way down in the day.

I saw that was something to do, I think the Tesla app will be able to run that automatically. Guess I'll find out.

Can understand Musk wanting tariffs. Will be tremendous if the world goes electric vehicle, will take many many decades to filter through but it's good to kick on

BP announce they are dropping climate friendliness and going all out on fossil fuels. Super.

This probably won’t happen because it benefits Scotland but it really should. We have been giving the go ahead for windmills all these years while England refused. We should be benefitting.

    That’s outstanding.

Good that there’s still progress being made in some corners of the globe whilst others seem hell bent on sticking us all in reverse.

Amazing stuff. I drive past the battery site near Lesmahagow regularly and it's going to be some site when up and running.

    It's progress.

I reckon the Perth area in Oz could produce enough for the whole world. It’s nearly always sunny and very windy.

They weren’t worried about the postcode lottery when it came to putting windmills up. If Labour don’t go through with zonal pricing it will be a kick in the teeth once again for Scots.
