It’s what the people voted for.

Head of National Security (CIA) is a pro Putin shill Tulsi Gabbard.

How can we share intelligence with her? She’s been described as a Russian Agent!

    J
Republicans expressing "shock" at some of these appointments. No idea why, it was well trailed that people were going to be hired on the sole basis of their loyalty to Trump. Most shocking thing for me is that the entire Trump family hasn't been offered cabinet posts. (Well, apart from Melania who with her radical leftist 'women's reproductive rights' ideas is clearly suffering a little bit from the woke mind virus.)

An idiot from Fox News put in charge of the Department of Defence, which employs 2.1 million people and has an annual budget of a trillion dollars.

Florida Senator Marco Rubio as Secretary of State.

Florida Congressman Matt Gaetz (currently under investigation for child sex trafficking) as Attorney General, the chief law enforcement officer in the country.

Elon Musk to oversee efficiency in government.

Trump is treating it like an episode of The Apprentice. The only qualification he wants for cabinet jobs is total obedience to him.
Not defending it in any way but the idiot from Fox news is a decorated soldier,so at least has a military background. What does Elon musk bring to the table????

In 2020, Hegseth volunteered as one of the up-to-25,000 National Guard troops authorized by the Pentagon to be put on active duty to protect the inauguration of President Joe Biden on January 20, 2021, but was removed from that mission because he was one of twelve soldiers "linked to 'right-wing militia groups,' or found to have 'posted extremist views online.'

Well according to many commentators, Musk helped Trump to win the election, so I guess that's part of what he brings to the table.

I’m going to get slaughtered for this but yes some of his points are bonkers but some are decent.

I don’t follow him or know his policies in depth but what I’ve seen in the last couple of days, there is a few things I think will be good for America.

He says there is 1000 ingredients used in everyday American foods which ate banned in EU. Agreed. American food is full of crap.

Going to try and reduce ultra processed foods.

Fluoride in water. No idea about this one but I seen article today saying studies have shown consuming fluoride has links to lower IQ - they just voted Trump so there’s all the evidence you need!

He just criticised Trump saying his diet was poison.

I don’t know enough about his anti vax views to comments but I seen an interview where he said he agrees with vaccines which are tried and tested and essential.

One thing for sure, the next 4 years are going to be bonkers.

The US is home to the term pork barrel politics for a reason…the waste in their system is undoubtedly off the scale. So no surprise that someone, no matter how oddly, running on a ticket of ‘reform’ managed to get voted in.

The fact that it will be allegedly be done using sycophants to the benefit of those just elected clearly passed a lot of people by!

But absolutely the next four years will be a crazy rollercoaster accessed through a revolving door…few of Trumps named persons will be around for long if his last administration was any clue as to what will happen this time.

Seems to me that the phase ‘careful what you wish for’ has never been more apt than for those who voted Trump this time around, if only the impact would be limited to them….

Hitler said having a healthy diet was an essential thing. It's easy to focus on the things people say that are sensible and just ignore the bat**** vile stuff.

He said there is a link between vaccines and autism, this has been debunked. Vaccines save millions of lives per year polio, percussion, measles and diphtheria killed thousands every year in the UK now almost zero. The worrying thing is since covid there has been a rise in people not vaccinating their kids and obviously a rise in disease. Idiots like RFK have blood on their hands

He said covid vaccine was rushed, then that to the teams at moderna who had been developing them for two decades. They all had medical degrees that took years and spent decades specialising in immunology, he got his info from twitter.

He said there could be some truth in covid vaccines being used to prime microchips in the blood, ffs

Thinks water vapour from planes jet engines is the government dropping chemicals on the population, surely a day spent with the US airforce explaining to him in crayon will sort that

Says he's very dubious that HIV causes AIDS. People studying the disease their whole lives would like to see the idiots workings on that.

Says 5g causes cancer with zero proof or study.

People didn't care when he was a loon to be laughed at but he will have control over medicare which is the only medical coverage millions of poor Americans have

Perhaps daring the Senate to defy him, giving him an excuse to bypass the Senate. He already has the judiciary under control, without any effective parliament he really just needs the military on side to be in full dictator mode, doesn't he? Who's going to stop that?

It’s Elon Musk AND Vivek Ramaswamy to lead the Department of Government Efficiency! TWO people doing ONE role, in a department about efficiency and cost saving! I do honestly believe he’s just ****ing with people now.

Trump does not need the Senate to approve his picks.

He can make “ recess “ appointments for any position and they can last up to a year.

Obama made over 40 recess appointments.

Indeed but he can use the process to at least get a few troublemakers (like Liz Cheney used to be) out of the GOP, or if there's a big enough rebellion start arguing that the Senate is preventing America Becoming Great Again and should therefore be ignored/shut down/whatever.

Scunnered, disgusted, angry. It’s incredible such a man could be elected president twice. What a shameful reflection upon America, a country of 330 million people and Donald Trump is who they come up with to twice be their president. Scary times, he has vowed to burn everything down, and that’s exactly what he will do, in addition to robbing the country blind. He currently has personal debts of around $2 billion; expect the country to pay that back. His criminal cases will magically disappear. It’s going to be even more crazy than his first term, at the end of which he tried to foment a coup. What a situation.

To be fair, the foundation of the US was a huge turning point for the better for humanity that no other country's history can rival, regardless of its contradictions. Pity it's struggled to live up to it since.

When the US was still a fledgling nation. Their constitution only came into effect 12 years before the beginning of the 19th century and shortly afterwards they began the massacre of millions of the indigenous population. When the first Europeans landed in the US, they were around 15 million inhabitants living there, by the end of the colonisation there were less than 300 thousand.

Your numbers are all probably true. Nevertheless, when you think about all movements for liberty since then, it's difficult to find any that wasn't inspired by the US. France, Ireland, Tiradentes, etc.

I think USA, UK and some of western Europe has the largest proportion of self hating populous of any nation. A large amount of us hate our past. Do you think Italians, Greeks, Mongolians, Egyptians or Turks care that they slaughtered to conquer the known world. They put up statues to the conquerors we want them torn down. I'm not saying one is right or wrong, although it's so far away it's nothing to be either proud or ashamed of.

Almost every nation I've been to in 5 continents the population are more patriotic and superior than us.

While self-hate probably isn't too cool, an awareness of the benefits you reap from the subjugation of others is handy. In countries like the US, Argentina, Brazil, a lot of folk have no idea of what went on in the past, so it's probably good that more attention is being paid to a lot of stuff and you're always going to get an overreaction and then an over-counterreaction.

Depends on how far back you're willing to go, there's an argument to be made that Scotland was the inspiration behind the drive for American liberty.

None the less, my point still stands, the US was founded on genocide, grew prosperous through slavery, is driven by greed and brainwashes it's population from a young age. Is it then really so surprising that elects an egoistic like Trump as its leader?

I'd contest the idea that it was founded on genocide but please feel free to educate me on pre-revolution systematic slaughter. I merely pointed out that they have some reasons to be proud of their country and didn't mention that **** at any point.

“Trump is starting to ensure his dictatorship. Three Generals are on a list to be arrested for treason.
Flynn has been given authority to fire senior Generals if they don't swear an oath to Trump. Several will refuse.
Some have already taken evasive action.
Generals swear an oath to uphold the constitution .... not to the President.”

Read this earlier. He appears to be trying to make his mark early.

    I can’t see him living long tbh…
