It's all about opinions I suppose. I love the ski lodge episode of Frasier but it probably doesn't make my top 10 episodes. Surprised it is up there.

I'd rather scoop my eyes out with a rusty tablespoon than watch a German TV series. The news, documentaries and sport yes, but everything else is Scheiße.
Deutschland 83 is class. Babylon Berlin, 4 Blocks and Charité. Not a series but The Lives of Others is up there with my favourite movies

Good to see The Shield in the top 10. It rarely ever gets mentioned. One of my favourite shows. The seasons with Forrester Whittaker and Glen Close can stand up to list shows IMO.

Don't sit on the fence, tell me what you really think

Looking forward to the Mr McMahon documentary on Netflix. Looks like they have some decent contributors including people not on good terms with him.

Only worry I have is that it's the same team that made Tiger King which makes me think it will be 10 episodes when 4 would have done.
PM Awards General Poster of The Year 2015, 2016, 2017. Probably robbed in other years

Bret Hart has been waiting nearly 30 years for this moment, he better be involved

I'm aware of that, but since the allegations came out about Vince he hasn't missed him in lots of interviews on wrestling podcasts etc, would be good to see him let loose on mainstream tv

I'll give you Babylon Berlin but the rest is meh. The problem with German tv is the language and how they use it. It's like all their actors are theatre trained and act like they're on a stage rather than in front of a camera. It's like 99% of their actors have attended the German equivalent of the Royal Shakespeare Company. It wasn't that long ago that the actors in German productions would use the 'Sie' form of the language when talking to family members and friends, it's just all very formal. It reminds me of what happened to Scottish Folk Music once the BBC got their hands on it, Folk Music was and should be rough around the edges, but your Moira Andersons and the like, sanitised it and turned it into a grotesque opera like event.

For a country with a population of over 80 million and a tv legacy dating back to 1935, they've produced very little that has gained popularity outwith Germany. If UK tv is Premier League, then German tv is floundering in the Pub League. Remember I say all this as a Teutonophile.

German Netflix series Dark is one of the best things I've watched, Really good and well acted. Haven't seen anything else German though so could be a rare one off.

Like Stairway says, there's a few German tv shows that break the cliché, but it's all about taste. But generally that what is most popular in Germany is pish. Their top show is called "Tatort" (Crime Scene) and it's religiously watched every Sunday evening. Have a watch, it doesn't even come close to crime thrillers made in the UK. Don't even get me started on the next best favourite shows like "the Love Boat" or "the Mountain Doctor", I've seen better Primary School plays.

Outside of Tagesschau and various sports stuff, I don't watch a lot of German TV*, but some of the satirical news stuff is quite good, like Heute Show.

Maybe it appeals because I pretty much share the same views on politics.

    * Though I avidly watched Huber und Staller, so maybe my standards have slipped after living in Munich

He was definitely in one of the trailers.

Hogan, The Rock and Stone Cold also in the trailer.

The one I would be interested to hear from is Mick Foley. He was quite gushing about Vince in his 1st book but his political views is so far removed from VM and he has volunteered at a rape crisis hotline for years. It would be interesting to hear his perspective now.

    THE Love Boat???

Or a German version, loosely based on a real-life onboard romance between an officer and a rating on the Bismarck?

What happens on the U-Boot stays on the U-Boot.

Which reminds me, the TV series "Das Boot" was pretty decent.

Been enjoying Sherwood on BBC but the ending of last nights episode was so stupid that it’s kinda ruined the whole thing IMO. Will see how they wrap it up tonight

Looking forward to watching the David Chase/Sopranos documentary also

Sky walkers a love story on Netflix.

    Wow. Just wow.

I honesty felt sick just watching it, heart pounding the lot with some of those camera shots from height. I’ve no idea how any human could do what they did.

I was gripped, scared and fascinated from start to finish.

24 Hours in Police Custody remains one of the best shows on TV.

There was another programme on right after it (can't remember the name of it though!) it was the same sort of thing but this one was a brutal murder in Scotland and focused more on how your digital footprint will absolutely nail you no matter what you try to delete. Well worth a watch.

Yeah sounds like the same thing mate. The body was found in a burnt out car up in Kirriemuir and I think they were from Arbroath.

Just googled it and it was called Murder Case, The Digital Detectives. There's 3 episodes on All4.

TV sorted for the next few nights. Didn't realise there was a new 24 Hours out. Great programme.

Managed about 4 seconds of the trailer before I had to turn it off Climbing that crane with deck shoes on seems sensible

Only two things are infinite, the universe and human stupidity, and I'm not sure about the former.
