Vance is attacking his military service. Saying he jumped ship before his territorial unit shipped off to Iraq.

The actual answer is Waltz handed in his notice well before the unit was mobilised. He resigned so he could run as Governor of Minnesota.

In late 2004, Walz submitted his retirement papers. Walz then filed official documents to run for the U.S. House of Representatives in February 2005.In March, the National Guard announced a possible deployment to Iraq within the next two years for Walz's battalion. Walz said he would deploy if called upon.[54] The National Guard completed processing of his retirement paperwork in May and Walz retired from military service on 16 May 2005.
Yip, it seems made up stuff is all they have. It’s the same with Harris. There is very little to attack her over unless you stretch the truth of the situation.

Also I read Mark Hertling on walz’ army record. He rose as high as he could in the ranks. He couldn’t rise above his rank as he hadn’t attended officer academy. It’s like our sandhurst for all the posh boys..

He had basically achieved all he could and served with distinction which is why he went into politics.

Genuinely had little or no knowledge of this guy and that a Kennedy was still in and about US politics and once heard his name and found out he was Robert Kennedys son i was absolutely staggered he has chosen to back who he has. Absolutely incomprehensible. If the tango guy gets in Kennedy will be as hated as him. As the family message says a sad end indeed. His dad and uncle would be so appalled imo. Doesn’t make any sense

Apparently he offered to back Harris if they were to give him a job in their administration. They gave him two words that mean the same as 'go away' so he tried the same with Trump and it worked.

He’s a real unprincipled twat. I can’t see him gaining votes for Trump ……. in fact, fingers crossed, he might lose him votes.

He looks like a Trump wanabee and seems to behave a bit like one so probably the best place for him.

A Kennedy who couldn't manipulate his way to relevance in the Democratic party maybe tells it's own story. His ego will be fed short term by his new orange pal.

I don’t think it’s about his personality gaining votes for Trump but rather pulling out meaning it really is now just a two horse race for the below hypothetical:

    Swing state - Trump takes 47% - Harris Takes 48% - Kennedy takes 5%

Those 5% are now more likely to vote Trump than Harris presumably. A bit like all the UK seats that Reform never won but likely changed the winner regardless.

Head to head polling still has Harris ahead in swing states.
A lot of the people who like Kennedy won’t vote at all.

i first saw it mentioned approx two months ago on twitter that Kennedy was leaning towards Trump, i think he will fit well in Trumps administration should he unfortunately win

Politics in the US can appear to be even more disingenuous that ours, but it seems like there is genuine digust at this and perhaps it will help to get the Democrat vote to turn out in force. IMO there will be a few undecideds who will look at this and see a Politician who is brazenly putting himself first, above country and family, and "finding " a natural home in Trumps Republicans.

Ridiculously good polling for Harris here.
The averages (last five polls) on the same site are quite a bit tighter, although mostly still in Harris's favour: https://www.270towin.com/2024-presid...lection-polls/ (sort by 'competitiveness' to see close races first).

Hopefully the most recent polls indicate the direction of travel though.

He's just throwing out the usual conspiracy rubbish to confirm to the idiots that vote for him, that he's the only one that can stop the sky falling on their heads.
