Textbook first half. Aberdeen have barely touched the ball so far.

We should tap them for a keeper and a couple defenders

A lot more enjoyable than watching the men's team. Excellent start to the season. We look stronger than last term although it's very early days.

There have been many times I've been thankful for the women playing for Hibs, they've been a saving grace.

I always thought last season was more a work in progress under Scott, partly to rectify the previous damage, it's early days but we look to have signed well.

Yes, a 7-0 win certainly helps to take the edge off the disappointment/resigned expectation when you check the men's score. It's also an easier/more reliable way of keeping the kids happy than a gloomy drive home from Glasgow.

    Agree re the new signings.

I attended yesterday's game v Aberdeen, mainly 'cos I renewed my grandaughter's Hibs Kids membership, and they now get 4 Hibs Women's games free, as well as the usual 4 men's games.
Must say I thoroughly enjoyed the match, and thought the girls played some fine football. I'll certainly go along to see them more often - my grandaughter will make sure of that. She was raving about the game, and the 7 goals, all the way home.

    Steady!
We won't really find out much about this seasons team until matchdays 5, 6, 8 and 11.
Hibs have another 2 procession fixtures against the have nots before that.
First judgement date is the evening of the 30th August.

That was a great idea from Hibs.
They need to build the crowds at our womens games.

Think they should make all women's games free for Hibs Kids. As others have mentioned girls in particular sometimes prefer going to the women's games, although one of my younger sons used to enjoy going with his pals when his primary school teacher handed out free tickets.

A move away from Meadowbank would also be good. Personally I'd have the women playing at ER on match days when the men's team is playing away. I don't know what sort of surface we have these days (is it pure grass or more of a hybrid?) but I guess that might be an issue. I don't travel to away games any more (too costly, kids don't fancy the journey plus we hardly ever win) so it would be good to make ER more family-friendly week in week out.

To be young and naive again, before you realise being a Hibs supporter is a penance

In all seriousness though, the women have started to play the way they did when I first began going to watch them when we had players like Jamie-Lee Napier and Abi Harrison banging them in, before the dark days of Dean Gibson. Seems so long ago but only talking 6 or so years. Hopefully things can only continue to improve.

Big shout to Tegan Bowie, great start to the season for her.

That is part of the long-term plan, but not sure when exactly.

The gap between the pro clubs and the rest is getting silly now. Going to end up with a 6 team league at this rate.

I think something of that sort would make sense. Celtic and Rangers, as they have for so long done in the men's game, hav created a very lop-sided women's league. On the one hand you could argue they may help raise the profile of the game and the standard of player coming in, but it's going to do nothing for the teams shipping a barrowload of goals every week.

I suspect Hibs will be assessing how much the crowds go up for those 4 games. Getting your money to attend and any other parents and grandparents that attended as a result of the Hibs Kids offer would be a real result. Every pound counts in the womens game in Scotland.

As for Meadowbank. No idea of the costs but it's dead money and not a good venue to spectate at.
Easter Road is now a very expensive hybrid pitch. Can't see Hibs being keen to let the women play all their home games there and it's a very soulless place with a few hundred fans in it. There could be a compromise to play the regular season home league games against the other 4 moneyed teams at Easter Road as well as the post split games and Meadowbank could be rented for the other regular season league and cup fixtures.

That's Colin Bell jumped ship from Aberdeen after two games.

They lost all the decent players in the summer. About 5 teams fighting relegation this season. The demise of Spartans in a few short years is unreal.

Tougher for them when their previous rivals can all invest. Be a shame to see them go down, especially as they contribute a lot to youth development in Scotland.

By all accounts they've done well to keep the score down so far tonight, young keeper with a 30mph wind blowing right at her

It’s awful. And the hibs HT is embarrassing also. Womens football is in serious trouble. I’m sure I read that Swpl will go to 8 next season. Have that. Call it the pro league. And stop kidding on the rest is any better than recreational football.

Don't mind it so much when it's Hibs doing it 😉

In fairness to Dundee United, Hibs put in as complete a performance as you'll see tonight, even with the gulf in talent. The girls all look well-motivated.
