It’s never really the majority of there fans. It’s the ex players and media who make them utterly detestable.

    Get it up them.
Lived amongst it for decades, loads of really knowledgeable football fans down here, sound folk but whether it's cricket, rugby, lionesses or finals like tonight you don't half get a sizeable amount of bellends who are just there to be loud, nationalistic and in some cases pretty aggressive, thankfully they only surface infrequently and a defeat finishes them off for a while.

**** all this chat with Kane and Southgate. Can someone get hold of Starmer to clarify when we’re getting this bank holiday?

What’s the clown saying now? I opted to listen to Wright greeting about it on ITV.
Wright and Ferdinand must be 2 of the worst analysts, and Dixon's not far behind them

Like Southgate and feel sorry for the guy. A thankless task unless you win the WC/Euros, has taken all sort of abuse and carried out the job with dignity. Even speaking after the game, was analytical and clear minded. Wish him well.
He’s a decent guy. As a manager he’s far too cautious and he showed far too much loyalty to Kane who was clearly miles off it this tournament. Not that I’m complaining.

Some of the stuff being aimed at Southgate on social media is unreal.

I don't much rate him as a manager but when you look at the mess he inherited he has done a very good job. He's not the man to win them a tournament and should probably walk now but he should go with thanks rather than abuse ringing in his ears.
Still the most successful Engerlund manager since Sir Alf.

I like the guy, he's knocking at the door of real success, hopefully they get in another expensive failure......

Theres an argument that Gareths achievement of reaching two major finals one on foreign soil are harder to achieve than 66, where pretty much everything fell for them.

What's the difference between football and Lassie?

    Lassie came home!

I agree. Those welts pelting him with beer earlier in the tournament should hang their heads. Gets England to 2 finals and a WC semifinal. Doesn’t need that abuse

I'd agree with that, a hell of a lot does tend to fall for them. Even when there's seeding the top seeds seem to end up in the other half from England.

Handy though or we would miss out on the hype before the crushing defeat

He hasn't reached 2 major semis on foreign soil though. Just one. 2021 was mostly at wembley.

And Scotland still the last team to beat Spain in a competitive game?

Apart from a worldie Bellingham was rotten, Kane too. They did turn up or play to their strengths. Playing defensive against Spain meant only one outcome. Found Spain pretty easy at Hampden too 🙈

The ITV interviewer asked him if he thought he had enough left to offer future success. Insensitive barsteward……..! I don’t think they deserve such a decent guy and hope he tells them to stuff it.

Massive relief but still feel a bit gutted for most of the players who come across as proper nice lads. Also, I’m watching ITV and it’s been very refreshing for a change. All of them saying they done well to get there but the better team won on the night. Nevill is one of the most balanced commentators around at the moment.

I met John Stones in Ibiza last year. Great Lad and spent a bit time with my son getting pics etc. Made his day.

Like i said in an earlier post. It’s the media and ex players that make them detestable.
