Jeez, this is embarrassing. Echoes of The Sun front page styles last century - and they weren't funny then either. Particularly ridiculous is that the stereotypes they level at English people can just as easily apply to Scots.

Can only guess that with the collapse in support for the SNP, their print media mouthpiece has seen an accompanying decline in sales and they're desperately trying to think of ideas to get people to buy the paper.

You think Kane or Saka will wait 7 minutes?

Shame as I do have a bit of time for Saka otherwise.

That's fine, you want to cheer on England? No problem either.

Which footballers at the top level don't dive?

Sadly they're all at it, pointless to hold against any individuals.

Kane barging into defenders who are jumping is far more dangerous and unsportsmanlike than diving. His trademark.

England at 12/5 to win seems a good price to me. 12/1 to win in extra time.

Here’s hoping they do save us from an England win though.

    Come on Spain.

For me there's been a feeling of inevitability that England would win something eventually. I hope they don't but i wouldn't lose any sleep if they did. I'm not as bothered about it as I once was.

    It is really.

It’s the talk of the steamie down here in Spain where I live.

Taxi driver who took us home last night was showing it and said that loads of people couldn’t believe it but they did think it was funny.

Yeah that’s where I am at. Remember Hearts in the mid 90’s, they kept getting closer and closer to winning a trophy with a couple of cup final defeats culminating with them winning the Scottish in 1998.
England winning the Euros won’t be on the same level as it’s very easy to ignore the media and the hype by simply turning off / ignoring / unfollowing certain outlets, wasn’t quite the same when the pink ones won the cup as it was very close to home.
If there is any justice then Spain will win; they have been the best team to watch whereas England have been passive, lucky and very reliant on late changes in games.

I think it's a genuine 5050 game. For England to be 12/5 and Spain 6/4 the value bet, to me anyway, is England.

    Hope I'm totally wrong though.

I got 350/1 on rodri to score, foden to score and Spain to win it 3-2.

Happens every Champions League night to some extent, but every two years we get English players routinely put on a holier-than-thou pedestal where those parts of their game are ignored. Other nationalities are frequently highlighted in far more negative lights where it's almost seen as part of non-English anti-football tradition.

In the broadcasting scenario we're in, hard not to find it perfectly natural to be more peeved at the English behaviour.

Yamal to score anytime and Walker to get booked is 16/1 on sky bet.

Clarkson for Aberdeen is a great player
He had a great first season for them, really hard to get the ball off, dribbler and ser piece taker as well iirc. Clearly learnt good habits at Liverpool. Last season after he signed permanently he was a bit of a disappointment according to aberdeen fans, only 3 goals but he didnt get much help from the team overall. Usually the smallest player on the pitch. He was excellent against us at ER.

England will set up defensively but Spain will still score meaning England will open up like they've done in the last couple of games but this time they'll get punished because they're finally playing a good side.

I don't think England will set up defensively. They'll have Kane, Saka, Foden and Bellingham on the pitch.

Southgate likes a defensive set up, the other 6 outfield players have traditional roles and if Foden and Saka are asked to prioritize containing breaks from wide positions then yeah, thats a defensive setup regardless of the individual players at his disposal.

Spain are a team with a great system and great individuals. Southgate has won against his critics by making winning subs, but not sure he has a system that matches Spains.

Dreadful. I'd never known Hearts to win anything in my lifetime before that. England winning tonight isn't even an issue compared to that.

Foden and Saka are not asked to prioritise defensively than than going forward.

What England do have is two sitting midfielders who play deep and very competent full backs in one on one situations which makes them solid defensively. Saka and Foden play high and wide. Or in Foden's case he was asked to play wide up to the Holland game where he was given a free role.

…they may be asked to do exactly that to contain the threat from the Spanish wingers and also Dani Olmo, which is hibrandenbergs point, that’s certainly what id do if I was trying to defend it. Saka has actually been excellent defensively this tournament. We’ll have to wait and see.

Hopefully the Spanish team are channeling their inner Carlos Alcarez.
