We are pleased to announce that Kirsty Morrison has signed a one-year contract extension with Hibs Women.

A reliable and intelligent forward, Kirsty made her 100th appearance for the Club last season and marked the occasion by wearing the captain’s armband for our Scottish Cup match against Rangers.

A cracking player and one of the five sponsored by hibs.net last season.
    Every gimmick hungry yob,
Digging gold from rock and roll
Grabs the mic to tell us,
    He'll die before he's sold.

Seems a bit odd Hearts releasing these players and then Hibs signing them.

Hearts obviously thinking they can get better ?

Always thought Grant looked good in midfield for Hearts , one of the better players on the pitch every time we played, I may have her mixed up with someone else but I don't think so. I have seen Hearts singed someone from Aberdeen who was top scorer the league last season and someone from Celtic.

Hearts didn’t release them, their contracts expired.

I was wondering, how many of the recent Scotland squads have played for Hibs at some point or come through the Hibs academy. I think there's a decent number of them.

So what does that mean for Scotland ladies? We've topped our group, seeded in some form of playoff?

We were already in the Euro play-offs. Not sure when they start. Tonight's win ensures promotion to Group A of the Nations League.Pretty huff and puff display judging by the report but Scotland seem to be edging tentatively towards better days, having gone a significant distance backwards. Step in the right direction not playing at Hampden I would say. Not sure what the crowd was at Firhill tonight but even a couple of thousand there would make for a better vibe than a similar number at Hampden.

Scotland drawn against Hungary in a very winnable tie in the first round of playoffs. Looks like we'd meet Finland in the 2nd round who we don't have a good record against.

Siranne Geldart has left the Hibs set up to sign for Bonnyrigg Rose. There isn’t an age group available for her to bridge the gap to the women’s team.

Scottish born with a Spanish mum and an English dad and I think she has a great chance to make a good living in a pro set up in future.

Between pregnancy and serious injury Smally has barely played in years. Hope she can find full fitness and avoid injury this season.

Fortunately her game isn't based on the same qualities as her husband, so I'm less worried about her ability to bounce back.

Because the women's game is still relatively young it's hard to say strongly, but there is an argument (one I've heard her discuss) pregnancy could benefit the longevity of a female player's career. Iirc it's basically to you not putting the same stress on the footballing parts of the body as consistently as those who don't take the necessary breaks involved in the pregnancy and maternity leave periods.

Big drop to go to Bonnyrigg - was there not a team available at a higher level?

Great start to the season with what is a tricky away match, hopefully tuck away Aberdeen next weekend and get off to a right good start.

Yep, good opening win. Think we've signed quite well in the close season.

Some of the results today is making the top league a joke.

    Hearts 11-1 Queens Park
    Rangers 11-0 Aberdeen
    Motherwell 5-1 Spartans
    Glasgow City 7-0 Montrose
    Celtic 9 v Dundee Utd 0

  29. #2338
I note that in the opening week of the SWPL no less than 4 teams were torched 0-11, 1-11, 9-0 and 0-7.
4 moneyed teams absolutely clubbing to death the teams that make up the numbers.
Hibs are the only moneyed team that had a match worthy of the name.
This makes our league look Mickey Mouse.

The simple measure of cutting the top league to 10 clubs would see less teams getting torched and Aberdeen need to put resourses into their womens team to stop them looking like an after thought. Losing 0-11 to Rangers today is their current benchmark.

Celtic and Rangers will finish this season 1st and 2nd
Glasgow City and Hearts will finish 3rd and 4th
    Hibs will finish 5th
    Partick Thistle will finish 6th
and the rest will finish with a horrific negative goal difference

Scores like that benefit no-one and certainly not the reputation of the league.
Mature, sensible signature required for responsible position. Good prospects for the right candidate. Apply within.

You will then get others complaining no competition.

    Rangers
    Celtic
    Hibs
    Hearts
    Glasgow City
    Motherwell
Plus 2 will be the new top 8.

Spartans / Queens Park / Aberdeen / Dundee Utd or Montrose could all easily go down.
