Just announce Wimbledon is your final tourney after this and that'll be that. Why wait any longer.
He'll be part of the Olympics then that will be it I'd imagine

I thought it was night and day between Murray and Nadal's performances. Nadal would have beaten most of the field but had a nigh on impossible task against Zverev.

Playing like he did today he could definitely carry on.

Does he deserve to be in the team. He's only ranked #4 in the UK

I think he’s only carrying on for commercial reasons.

I don't think so. You could tell he believed he had a shot at getting back towards the top and of the rankings after his op, but it was always a very long shot. IIRC the only player to have made anything like a successful return with a metal hip was one of the Bryant brothers in doubles.

Personally I thought doubles would have been a more realistic option for Andy but it must be hard to have reached the pinnacle of your sport only to have your career cut short by injury. And to be fair he HAS come back and won a few tournaments, which is pretty remarkable.

Djokovic wins in 5 sets Vs Mussetti . Absolutely ridiculous time to finish a match , 03:07 ( French Time ) not a lot of thought for player welfare or for the officials and others involved

He can’t possibly believe he still has it.

Shame. He's probably out for Wimbledon too.

The year I finally make it to Wimbledon and no Federer, Nadal, Djokovic and an over the hill Murray 😂

He never seriously thought he could get back to world No 1 again but he did target the top 40 and managed to achieve that which was good going at that level with a metal hip.

Surprised to hear the injury was genuine. Normally he feigns these things to knock his opponents off their stride and then stages a miraculous recovery.

Normally he wins grand slams because he’s the best player at the tournament.

Andy comes through the first round at Queen's against Popyrin, played pretty well.

Jordan Thompson another Aussie in next round. At least he can still manage to win a match, hopefully he can get another win and a lucky draw at Wimbledon 😁

Enjoyed that today. A good battling win. I always felt Andy was best to watch on grass, although I think the US Open was his favourite surface.

Murray retires hurt at 1-4 down at Queen's.

2 weeks to Wimbledon, so hopefully he can get himself fit for that.

I'll be surprised if he recovers in time. The injury occurred in the very first game today. Tried to continue after treatment but you could see he was done.

I'm selfishly hoping he does as I have centre court tickets for day 2 so there could be a chance he would be on then.

Find out soon enough I suppose.

Hopefully just a tweak. You saw it when he sat down the other day in one of the first breaks, it was as if he'd sat on a tack or something, seemed to take him completely by surprise.

Interesting listening to him describing the issue. His body sounds absolutely broken due to the demands of top level tennis and the other problems he has had.

That spell at his absolute peak when he won Wimbledon, Olympic gold, carried the GB team to Davis Cup victory and finished up as world No 1 took a hell of a lot out of him. It was a phenomenal effort from a player who gave it everything to keep pace with the almost freakish Federer, Nadal and Djokovic and when he retired from Wimbledon the next year with the injury that led to his hip replacement you sensed he had simply taken his body beyond what it could cope with.

Having been born with a split kneecap he's never lacked challenges to overcome.

Hopefully you get to see him. He's also down to play doubles with Jamie which might get a top court billing.

Jack Draper's just beaten Alcarez at Queen's. That's a terrific win.

You can see why Andy Murray reckons this guy's sights are set a bit higher than British No 1.

A tremendous win for Draper. He's going to get a lot of pressure as the next saviour of British tennis so I hope he can handle it. He certainly has the talent.

The pressure on Murray was ridiculous when you consider how low British expectations should have been, bearing in mind that post-Fred Perry there had been barely a men's player of significant note.

As you say, hopefully Draper can deal with expectations (probably even higher considering he's English).

No singles for Murray. He will bow out of Wimbledon in the doubles.

Hope he can get through the doubles. He didn't look like a man ready to play serious tennis in the clip I saw yesterday.

He won't need to cover the ground like he would in singles so hopefully they can be competitive, but Andy will be relying on Jamie to carry him to a large extent I imagine.

What I suspect will happen is that it will be more of an emotional opportunity for the Wimbledon crowd to acknowledge a British legend of the game and for Andy to take his final bow, irrespective of the outcome. If that's the case, it's a bit a shame for Jamie who will essentially be sacrificing his hopes of serious progress in a format he's excelled in, but it will still be an occasion he'd want to be part of I think.

The Murray brothers in their prime playing Davis Cup doubles were a thrilling watch:

Chat here from the staff is that there will be a presentation to Murray after the Draper game. Can't see it happening myself but time will tell .
