Maybe mate, but things evolve during the tournament. Not often the team that looks the hottest after the first few games goes on to win the tournament. The only purpose the group matches serve is to get to the knock out stage. Tournament football. No doubt Spain played very well in that first half.

Agree if it was a penalty. To be honest I was surprised VAR upheld that. I thought he kicked the ground and dived.

Just goes to show that VAR is highly debatable worldwide, and only as effective as the ‘impartial’ armchair ‘referees’ making the decisions.
