I'd love it if Labour said they were going to chase down ALL the tory criminality over the last 14 years.

Maybe they would need to be careful if they did that. 😄 The Covid ppe scandal much like brexit is almost a Voldemort situation for the media in this country

    Zero chance of that happening.

Sounds like he hasn't sobered up from one of his lock down parties? You know, the ones he sanctioned and attended while people were following the rules but some were still dying.

Maybe better off hiding back inside a freezer again.

1st week in office arrest the Post Office criminals.

2nd week in office arrest and interview the VIP lane criminals, facilatators and those who benefitted.

3rd week in office release the Russia Report.

4th week in office begin the arrests of known Russian assets.

That would set the tone for their tenure and allow the public to realise the last 14 years haven't been politics as normal.

So that means he'll be turning up but just at the wrong place at the wrong time?

I do wonder if he might go before the election. The D-Day stuff won't go away.

The vipers in his party/cabinet aren't exactly fulsome in their backing of him.

I'm sure Douglas will do the right thing and stand down if he has been "stealing" money

Since that very thing is all he's banged on about for months

I'm sure this will have been discussed on BBC Scotland's Sunday politics show ...?

He's gone on enough about mathieson right enough... and he hadn't even 'claimed' the expense it was an automatic centralised bill.
In Ross's case he's had to actively put in the expense claim.

Will be interesting to see how much interest the BBC show in this compared to Matheson?

Oh, c'mon now. We all know how this will go. BBC Scotland are already reeling about how Flynn managed to get front and centre and not heckled by the host on Friday. They'll ignore it until its impossible to ignore, then give it a couple of headlines and then ignore it again. Just look at their website today. Not a mention

Ross needs to go but it’s laughable trying it suggest Matheson did not make a claim..both corrupt

Mathewson wouldn’t have made a claim but there would have been an expense. Not really corrupt if he subsequently paid for it.

Nah he was streaming to family which is against the rules was highlighted to him, he said it was personal use so he'd put it through on his own expenses, only after the papers found it he said he'd pay himself, he also lied to parliament saying he didn't let others use his data. Despicable.

Ross is a completely separate issue and if true also disgusting and he needs to walk. One doesn't lesson the other

Both should be gone. That’s not how the media will play it though.

    Agreed.

But for clarification on the Matheson case, the first he knew about the high cost of the bill was when it was raised with him after the fact... he didn't make any expenses claim regarding it. The rest of how it was handled though is down to him.

The minute he lied about it his position was untenable.

I know a guy who works at Scottish Parliament who tells me EVERY expense or financial claim that is made, a big box comes up on screen that says, I confirm are true & accurate with disciplinary action if found to be untrue etc. Or does that not count for MSPs

Richard Holden being given a severe beating in a Sky News interview, what an absolute joy to watch. Only question is why this sort of beating hasn't been dished out by the mainstream media the last few years?

Yup, in the Matheson case it doesn't remove the fact that it was after the fact it was raised, he never actually put un a claim for it, That's when it all went pear shaped, obviously he immediately agreed to pay back half as he was claiming an administration error for having the old sim card, conveniently forgetting the laddies had piggybacked of the WiFi for the footy so he should be stumping up for the bloody lot.

Quote from various sources…he submitted an expenses claim

March - In the absence of a "clear explanation" of how the fees could have been incurred, the health secretary submits an expenses claim to contribute £3,000 from his office expenses, with the rest to be paid by parliament.

And that's why we all think he should be gone.
