Draft tonight. I'm hoping to stay up and watch as i have the day off work tomorrow. Should be the most offensive players ever in the first round, first 6 picks likely to be QBs or receivers. Caleb Williams will obviously go first and then its one high rated receiver or QB after another. Ive looked at multiple mock drafts and its amazing how obsessive you can get about predicting who can go where.

The Aaron Hernandez situation starts a lot earlier IMO. That concussion he took on HS is the beginning of his mental deterioration along with playing under Urban Meyer. That guy is a full on ****ing ****.

No defensive player taken until pick 15! Biggest surprise on draft day was Michael Penix jr going very high at #8 to Atlanta, who has just brought in Kirk Cousins to the same position!
Lots of defensive value still left in the second round, including Cooper deJean from Iowa who has quite the highlights reel, and for daft name lovers, CB Kool-Aid McKinstry is still available.

I don't hate the Arizona pick.
Surprising but it's a strategy that has worked well for a team like Green Bay, taking a QB before you really need one and letting them sit and develop makes sense rather than throwing a good young QB into a bad team.
Happy enough with Miami's pick. It was always going to be an OT or LB and Robinson was arguably the best option left on the board at the time so it makes sense to take him.
Also think the Raiders have got a good one in Brock Bowers.PM Awards General Poster of The Year 2015, 2016, 2017. Probably robbed in other years

Happy with the Bears picks.
Caleb Williams has been the presumptive first pick for months, and hopefully be the man who changes QB history in Chicago (how many times has that been said)
Was hoping for D-line or Edge with the 9th, possibly even after a trade down, but wasn’t expecting a top 3 WR to be available there, so no issues with the pick. Positive times aheadLast edited by McD; 26-04-2024 at 08:47 PM.

Huge rivalry game tonight on the box Miami Hurricanes at Florida Gators. Some big name transfers making their debut. I have the spicy wings ready and the beers in the fridge. Go Canes!

Well it wasn't all "out" but spent most of today in a pub watching the ticket master app after a night out last night.

Halftime Miami 24 Florida 10. Cam Ward just looks like a NFL ready quarterback, silencing 90,000 in the swamp at this point.

I'm quietly confident GB will have a really good season. I think Detroit are favourites for the NFC North but we'll see.
Not sure about the Superbowl to be honest. I'll come back after a couple of weeks.

Disapointing start for the Packers last night, both teams looked rusty but always felt the Eagles were in control. There were penalties galore on both sides and slipping all over the place. Love looked like he might have suffered a season ender at the end of the game. I hope it's not but it didn't look good.
Texas v Michigan tonight for me!

Not NFL, but my daughter attended an Alabama college game recently (they won 63-0) and she loved it. Had no idea what was going on but was blown away by the size of the crowd and the brilliant atmosphere throughout the game.

I think the immensity of the college game is the thing that people this side of the Atlantic dont really comprehend. Lots of stadia over 80,000 capacity regularly filled, passion and noise that conpares very well to the NFL, and from this season huge numbers of players officials cheerleaders and marching bands zigzagging the country by plane literally hundreds of times for away games. (West coast teams now play East coast teams in the same division, a lot of the local rivals won’t play as often, all of which is an emissions disaster but this is America right?
. I love that stat that Auburn, a medium sized college town in Alabama regularly gets attendances more than the town’s own population, because of the number of alma mater coming back to watch their college team rather than the nfl team nearer where they live.
